Who: Akechi, Ren, & Perrin
What: Toedally Missing
Where: Around Death Blood Murder Skull Town.
Warnings: Sleepy froggies.
The Outpost remains largely an enigmatic territory, despite the recent missions and establishment of "Death Blood Murder Skull Town," as Flowey so 'lovingly' called it. Akechi had to admit, he got a chuckle out of seeing the name plastered on the quest board, but for as comical as it all was, they had work to do.
Luckily, he's worked with Ren and Courier Six before. And, with an additional groupmate, it should be easier to ensure that Ren doesn't overextend himself. He's recovered fairly well, but he's not out of the woods yet!
As they make their way through the grasslands, Akechi lands on one of the stones by the river to take in their surroundings. "We may need to question the Pokémon native to the area. Water doesn't give us an easy means to track our missing frog, though I suppose Courier Six-san does have an advantage in that regard."
He'll let the others weigh in, of course, as it's only fair. They may have insights or observations, particularly given Ren's sharp sense of hearing and smell.

(Thinking about him hurts. Ren puts it aside, for now.)
"I'm not really picking anything up," he sighs, then turns to Courier Six. "You see anything?"
no subject
Yet, it had advantages. His tail swished across the ground, as he kept his good eye out. His expression was still calm, as always. Almost a bit nostalgic, watching the two, yet he wouldn't say why. "No - not yet. Water doesn't seem disturbed."
He almost seems to be expecting bloodshed or violence or... something, by his tone of voice.

"Then it seems we've no choice but to gather information."
It just so happens that a Slowpoke pops its head out of the water at that precise moment.
"Bird."
How... perceptive.
no subject
"Heya," Ren's quick to greet the Slowpoke, who dopily blinks at him. Is it... looking through him? Well, he can deal with that. "Hate to bother you, but we're looking for someone. Have you seen someone called Politoed? Bipedal, froglike. Green?"
Sloooooooooow blink.
no subject
Another slow blink from the Slowpoke. Before it opens' its mouth...
For a yawn, slowly stretching out and moving a bit more out of the water. Perrin tilts his head. "How... illuminating."
But, who knows! Maybe it knows where it's going. Or where a green thing is.

An agonizingly slow pause follows, before the Slowpoke points its tail to the east. "There."
Losing patience, Akechi flutters into the air. "Very well. We'll find this Golduck and hope they have more pertinent information."
no subject
"Akechi, be nice," Ren playfully scolds, before waving to the Slowpoke. "Thank you for the info!"
Hopefully they'll find Golduck soon. He turns to Courier Six. "You seeing any Golduck?"

Joining Courier Six, he scours the area. Duck, duck, duck...
"...Hm. No. That fluffy, blue one looks more akin to a first stage like Psyduck." Squinting, he turns around. "Hmm... Odd. There's a creature to the northeast that looks vaguely duck-like, but with distinct spiky features."
But it's something, so perhaps they ought to start there.
no subject
"It's as good a start as any. Let's see if they know something?"
no subject
Courier Six looked to the smaller Pokemon, before giving a tilt of his head. "Guess that's our target."
no subject
Clearing his throat, Akechi lands with a graceful flourish. "Good afternoon! I realize you're a bit preoccupied, but we're members of the guilds of Bottlecap Bay, and we're presently in search of a missing Politoed."
no subject
He jumps up on Courier Six' shoulder, and whispers, low enough that only Akechi and him can hear: "maybe, if we help them with that reed, they'll help us find Politoed faster."
no subject
But it seems answers will come with helping out, first.
no subject
"Very well. We'll gladly assist you in your... predicament."
no subject
He approaches the reeds, carefully assessing the situation, before unleashing a well-placed Scratch, cutting some of them down. It doesn't completely free the Psyduck, but it's a start.
