CLOSED: Over the Brink
Who: Akechi, Ren, and Mayaka
What: Over the Brink
Where: Along the coast and cliffs.
When: Mid-April (or whenever the rescue takes place).
Warnings: Pokemon-typical violence, some mild psychological horror from the fog.
This was not the mission had anticipated. However, that does not mean he won't rise to the occasion.
The teleporters did not function as intended. If he wanted to be spiteful, he could claim it's a consequence of Polteageist's hubris and boastfulness, but he knows better. Besides, they have far greater priorities, like rescuing the missing team.
The lack of communications pose a problem. Something about the area beyond the Bay clearly isn't right, butt that's par f or the course. It was the same with the forest, and the same again with Heavy Downmoor, Icefall Lake, and Furnace Mountain. Uncharted terrain, full of dangers and mysteries...
At least Akechi can fly, and Mayaka's claws leave her well equipped to climb. Ren has his cat-like reflexes, jumping, and claws of his own, and Akechi is more than happy to carry him, should the need arise.
With directions from the teleportation specialists, the trip starts out simple enough, but the beach below in all its foreboding presents one of two options: either Akechi can ferry them down, or they all descend together, as a tight knit group and avoid losing sight of one another.
Humming, Akechi turns to his teammates. "I could theoretically carry you both down, but it would not be especially graceful. Whatever we do, we must not leave each other's sight."
