For Mayaka: Sometimes You Wanna go~

[As soon as Bigby and Dolly mentioned the opening of a pub, Cedric signed up to help them right away. No, he's never stepped foot in a pub, at least not for years; this is exclusively to help his friends even if he doesn't drink a single pint. So he's very chipper when he goes to meet with his quest partner-

Wait a minute, he knows this one! He didn't recognise the name, but that Sneasel definitely looks like the one he accosted outside of the clinic- oh. In hindsight, he sure made a fool of himself that day, didn't he?

His energy promptly drops as he much more cautiously approaches the purple bipedal weasel. Maybe, if he's lucky, she won't remember him? But he suspects otherwise, since why would you forget someone so embarrassing...?]

Euh, g-good day... Mayaka, was it?

[Mayaka is sitting around waiting for her partner. To pass the time, she's been drawing ideas of what she can bring for Dolly and Bigby in her sketchbook. Pubs usually have dartboards, right? She's sketching a few variations of what the board might look like though she has no idea how the game works.

She looks up when she hears the someone approaching.]

Yup! That's me. You remembered my name. [The Sneasel sounds slightly surprised, recalling how panicky and all over the place the Murkrow was when they met.]

Anyway, Cedric-san, [she confidently addresses him]

I have no experience with bars and pubs, so I'm going to follow your lead for this.

[He immediately buckles when she recognises him, giving what would be described as a sheepish expression if he had any teeth.]

Yes, well, you see-

[No, Cedric, despite last time, she's following your lead, you're not going to mess this up. He straightens up, but his head is still tilted to the side as he conjures up a reply.]

It has been a long time since I've stepped into one... a very long time... buuuut I do know wine, and I do have a relative understanding of what tastes good in a drink, so we'll start with the basics. To the forest!

[He's strutting, not flying, to the outskirts; what they need shouldn't require an in-depth exploration, thank goodness for them.]

[Mayaka follows after him towards the forest, glad that he's being clear with the directions.]

While we're searching for the ingredients, do you think we could find some wood for me to make a dartboard?

[She flips open her sketchbook to show her drafts to Cedric as they walk.]

Since there will be lots of drinks, they need something to entertain the guests too. This is the sort of thing that would be popular, right?

Hm? A dartboard?

[He searches through his memory. Were there games in any of the pubs he saw an eternity ago? He mostly remembers loud talking and cheering, possibly some crazy dancing on tables if the drinking got bad enough.

Then again, even if they didn't have such things, perhaps they should have to discourage such rowdy behaviour. And if potential minors might be visiting this particular one, Cedric especially wants something entertaining for them that has nothing to do with drinks - not that he think Bigby and Dolly would ever endorse such a thing, but nevertheless...]

Excellent idea! We can collect them while we grab the berries.

[At this point, they've reached the outskirts of Spectrunk, where there are indeed several clusters of berry plants and trees. The good news is that Cedric's visibly relaxing now that their goals are clear.]

Do you have a berry flavour of preference, Mayaka? They seem to have a wide variety in this place.

[If Mayaka's pleased to get his seal of approval on the idea, she tries not to make a big deal out of it and stops herself from smiling too obviously.]

I like sweet and spicy ones. I can eat anything as long as it's not cheese.

[Is there a berry out there that tastes like cheese? Yuck!]

Are there specific berries you want to pick for the bar? [Mayaka is opening her empty bagpack, ready to start gathering up the berries.]

For Ritsuka: Pick-Me-Up

[Consider the overall scope of Furnace Mountain, it did seem wise for Cedric and his partner to meet up at the Quest Board before they head out. As much as he disliked his trip through the fog last time, Tandemaus insisted this wouldn't be as dire, and his enthusiasm already lifts a little bit upon seeing the familiar Rufflet.]

Well, good morning! You're more comfortable in your form now, I hope?

[lightofchaldea]

"Oh, hi!"

Ritsuka was likewise enthusiastic to see a familiar face, and nodded at his question.

"Yeah. I think so, at least..."

"Excellent! Because it'll certainly be easier to find this 'Pick-Up' team in flight."

He's already flapping his wings to stretch them out.

"Have you gone to Furnace Mountain before?"

"Right, an aerial view should help a lot."

It was entirely possible that wanting to give exactly that a try was part of why she'd signed up. She shook her head at the question, though.

"No, I haven't."
