Maybe dark is just really good at getting to people, one way or another. So you can talk someone out of being taunted but not out of being Taunted, maybe? Makes sense to me. It does feelings too, sort of? At least for certain moves.
[ Dark Pulse being the most directly weaponized application of it, but status moves like Flatter, Fake Tears— those are considered dark too, aren't they?
