Wayfinding: Furnace Mountain
Who: Guilmon, Archnemon, Emporio, Akira
What: Wayfinding in Furnace Mountain
When: Early October
Where: Furnace Mountain
Warnings: ...Who knows? If something comes up, will edit!
[ It's been a busy month. Plans to make. All in the name of keeping busy, at least for Archnemon, but in this case, while the thought of going back and making a map through that horrible caldera wasn't the most pleasant, it at least was somewhat familiar enough territory.
No Pyroar? No problem. They were a reasonable group of four, enough to cover most weaknesses or issues and even emergency medical coverage on their side. That was a nice bonus.
... Granted by the time they are given to set out Archnemon is also unexpectedly slightly... seeming a little more off than usual. Another recent quest might have had a bit of a ghostly effect on her. She's not seeming too worried about it or even talking about it if asked. More importantly- through the annoyance of the existing dust storms, that pillar previously spoken of looms visibly in the distance. Navigating around it? ]
... Right, lets begin checking for those ground disturbances.

My magic only had a range of five hundred meters, so I'm actually pretty good at judging distance! If we start on a smaller scale and put the spire here...
[Going through his supplies as he speaks, Akira soon has a grid drawn up, along with a rough estimate of the route they'd taken prior leading to its center. He hands it to Emporio.]
Guilmon's our most agile, and the easiest to keep an eye on with that fire. We can use his stride to measure while he marks up a new path, and map any notable areas individually.

[ Additional teams can probably bring the labor to fix up those spots afterward anyway. Hmm. ]
Ah! There might be signs of less traveled paths that weren't noticeable before, so just watch the ground for anything different in texture. We should go east first... we should be able to loop back around.

[Emporio looks about at what can even be clawed up. It's a hard call...] Markings would at least be something...
...Oh, but if you have your distance measured out that well, that's really going to help!! Good thing these are fire resistant too... [the boy mutters, looking to the supplies that Akira is working with.
He takes it in his hands, and nods seriously.] Sounds like a good idea. We can't really bring much in with us, and we also won't find a whole lot within the caldera necessarily...
...For now, we rely on Guilmon's markers, and as we find stones we can stack them for added benefit. It'll be grid work that really carries us here I think.

[With a cheerful smile, he takes his job very seriously, readily scratching at safe spots along the path as they work their way east. The others are smart, so they can probably just direct him as needed.]
