November+December Catch-All
Who: Siffrin (Shinx) + Shoka, Laios, Cedric, Chara, Anasui, Parvati
What: The fallout of the Network Incident, and also quests. Sometimes both at once!
Where: Spire, Canopy, wherever various search quests take them
When: One thread backdated to October, otherwise throughout November (including during the snowstorm) and December
Warnings: Potentially Siffrin's warnings (definitely spoilers & alluded-to suicidal ideation in Shoka's thread), the usual quest peril

Hopefully I got all the snow, sorry if I missed any. You building stuff in here? [ of course she'd notice, someone like her obviously would. ]

[The... oh, that's right. Siffrin very vaguely remembers seeing something on the questboard about that...]

[ she hadn't thought it'd be such a big deal? to the folks who weren't in the guild, anyway. she glances awkwardly to siffrin. ]

[Siffrin... winks at Parvati and settles back. Thanks for nothing to them!!]

Oh, yeah. I'd be happy to explain how it all works, lemme come over.
[ she casts a wary glance at siffrin, mouthing "thanks", before walking over to the quilava and beginning to go into the intricacies. as it turns out, she also named the pump system "sophie". ]
not me stopping myself from going down a wikipedia spiral for this
[Still, Quilava is attentive and enthusiastic! She seems to be the source of all the little ticking automatons and models scattered around the inside of this building, but none of them are quite as practical or useful as "Sophie" - all other things aside, her materials have been nearly entirely limited to wood and Pokemon products. She's been able to get some carefully hoarded metal springs, but beyond that everything she winds up or puts under tension has to happen with Pokemon hair or leather. And being a Fire type, she's never known what to do with water... but she is happy to talk about what she has tried, if Parvati seems interested! Her recent project is a crossbow for launching Cacnea spikes and Corsola twigs, and -]
[(Dewott pulls over the heated teapot and starts pouring some of those hot drinks... he seems resigned to this taking as long as it's going to take.)]
[Eventually, Quilava moves on to asking:] So what's your next project?
[The thought of Parvati maybe not having a next project yet doesn't seem to even occur to her...]
[Meanwhile, in the background, Siffrin has found a device that they're sitting in front of. Judging by how they're very carefully rotating something with one claw, it's either manual or it's something that's wound down. But it's hard to tell what they're finding so interesting without actually walking up behind them and looking over their shoulder.]

she raises her head in surprise when quilava asks that. ] I dunno. That one was pretty hands-on and busy, haha. I ain't really thought about it. [ she seems at least a little bashful about that, but in fairness, she's been doing other stuff. forcing herself to be social, that kind of thing. managing a big project is very draining to one's social battery.
she glances over her shoulder at siffrin, curious as to why they have ditched her here. ]

[That's not what they're paying attention to, anyway - instead it's the rest of the model. The moon, suspended in orbit around it, and the spot marked on the model as the sun, that the planet's swinging around. The distances between them aren't even close to scale, but aside from their orbits, both the planet and moon spin at a tilt.]
[Siffrin's rotating the largest gear at the base, making the whole contraption move. Not that it's possible to tell without having them face you, but their working eye is slightly unfocused and distant.]
[It'll take someone actually coming up behind them for them to start and pay attention again - whether that's Parvati or Dewott with their drink. Either way, they yank their paws back to the floor and turn toward the table. Brightly:] All done?
[They never actually drank anything...]
