WHAT: The results of the Holiday Hotpot player quest - and an open invitation for everyone to gather together and enjoy a hot meal!
WHEN: Monday, December 15th
WHERE: Bottlecap Bay, down on the beach
WARNINGS: I can't think of any, unless hot soup is a warning?

It may be a bit nippy with the wind coming in off the ocean, but the beach is the best place to construct and keep up a few large bonfires, if summer's events were any indication. Three pits have been dug and filled with firewood, and set up with large pots with dividers, full of savoury broth divided into a comforting, creamy concoction and a spicy, sweet surprise - options, after all, are not just a considerate consideration, but necessary!

There's plenty of food to add to these pots - lots of wild mushrooms plucked just before the harsher frosts claimed them, sliced berries, nuts, seeds, various leafy greens still clinging to their color, wild carrots and wild potatoes, seaweed...tofu? There's tofu. Some Pokemon in the Bay must make it and sell their excess, which is very generous of them. And, unless someone decides to surprise everyone with rice, there's bread to soak up all that lovely broth!

Looks like this is something you do together with others - cooking the bounty provided by your fellow otherworlders-turned-Pokemon, that is. The sand is thankfully, somehow, not wet, so you can sit there, wrapped up in your winterwear or a bolt of pressed wool provided for the occasion, watching your delicious meal simmer as you swap stories and laugh and have a good time, perhaps even make new friends with those outside of your assigned guild!

Which is exactly what your hosts, Ren and Firoza, would love for you to do! Don't be shy - come on and join us! There's plenty to go around!

Hm...well...at least those are good feelings?

[It's better than bad shitty feelings.]

A little something might assist in relieving some of the emotions, though. Like, how sometimes the right drink or food can settle one's spirits.

Positive ones are certainly better, but... too much can be too much all the same.

[ Not that she's sure what it would do since she's getting bombarded by other's emotions, but keeping her own balanced doesn't hurt. ]

What did you have in mind?

Ah, well, I wish we had chai in particular, but tea is a good start.

[They may have some water ready for cups of tea to the side!]

I'm more used to green teas, but they do seem to have a more herbal variety here. Though if Chai is from varied spices, maybe someone knows which kind are needed?

[ If nothing else, it was starting to seem that there were a significant percentage of the Pokemon here were enterprising with the right amount of influence. If anyone had knowledge of the combinations needed. ]

I know cinnamon is required, and black tea specifically. And...hm.

[She has to sit and think back to the individual flavors within the chai, and how they coalesced into the comforting drink that helped soothe her nerves when she needed it, many times since discovering the brew.]

Cardamom, ginger, cloves, anise...sometimes peppermint, too, and black pepper. It's brewed in milk if I recall correctly, and it's best paired with a sweetener. I'm partial to honey myself.

That's quite a combination of spices... if the pokemon here haven't foraged or identified all the ingredients yet, then we'd have to test how it could be recreated otherwise.

[ Sounds like a project, but not one beyond them. Her mindset's back to problem-solving again, but at least she's not dozing. As aloof as she might sometimes seem, food and purpose certainly help for it. ]

And then trial and error for the correct proportions, but once that's solved, it should be quite worth the result, don't you think?

Absolutely! Chai is a wonderful drink. I don't think the amount of spices can necessarily be wrong so long as you enjoy what you're drinking.

[Obviously you don't want one overpowering the others obnoxiously, but she's pretty sure no one actually measured out the spice mix in Thavnair, they just made the chai and it was good.]

It's very...centering.

Oh? Sounds like we have an unofficial mission on our hands. We can find out when these sorts of spices would be more easily gathered if they aren't available.

[ This world can be surprising, but she knows better than to anticipate that the pokemon would have come up with every possible variable. ]

[ If there's one thing Firoza needn't doubt is what happens when you give Archnemon a mission, particularly one related to tracking down ingredients. Surely her reliable little crew can help pull this off.

Just likely with more time and more likely once winter passes in truth, but there are options at least. ]

Right. We'll just have to compare notes sometime. Firoza-san.

[ She doesn't seem to mind that it's something of a plan for the future, as much as she's content to enjoy the food in front of her at the present. ]
