Earning her keep
Who: Akari and any poor sod who crosses her path.
What: Akari is here to prove her worth to Bottlecap Bay. Whether you like it or not.
Where: Bottlecap Bay
When: Sometime during April (all of it)
Warnings: Swearing, the traumas:tm:
Some people (or, well, Pokémon) would take a day or two to adjust to having their bodies shaped into something new and thrown into a new location. Maybe take a moment to adjust to any weird dysmorphia about suddenly having no fingers or being a sentient bag of garbage (which, let's be real, isn't a change for some people.)
Akari on the other hand started to work. Someone needed a berry delivered from point A to point B without being eaten somewhere in the middle? Akari was on it. Needed someone to go tell their kid who was playing dangerously close to a ledge to stop it? Akari was already there. It didn't matter; it seemed like the moment someone looked mildly uncomfortable, the Cyndaquil was already there trying to fix an ill or find something.
It would be impressive if it seemed like she took a break. Or if she didn't seem like she was just sitting in traffic waiting for a light to turn as she listened to whatever someone needed. It was also obvious she was also trying to make sure the task was done 100 percent, even if she checked back in with the person like she was throwing a cigarette butt at them when she was done.
That was just the nature of her. Sometimes you might see her resting her feet for a second or two; other times you might see her waiting for someone or something to appear to give a message or deliver something. Or sometimes, she might stop and stare at you for a moment before asking if you needed help.

"Meant I chose th'fate of a whole nation. I carried a package that could dictate the fate of everything." A beat. "Then I decided I was th'best person to look over the nation. Because everybody else was gonna just cause more issues." Oh, there is venom in his words, so many things left unsaid.
A beat, before: "Did your past have somethin' you were blamed for even though it... wasn't really your fault?"

She said easily. But there is a slight tone to her voice that said she was still bitter about it, even if she was trying to play it cool.
"I am just built better, so I don't blame them."

He gives a bit of a pause, walking in silence for a few moments. "But still. Gotta make shit better, huh." Is he talking about himself, or Akari? He feels that, somehow, they're kindred souls. "Even if it's just makin' a delivery."
no subject
Well, she IS in fact bitter, and she is an ass. But you know what, she doesn't care.
"Delivering something, finding out information, whatever needs to be done even if they will forget about it in 10 minutes or the moment their potato mochi falls on the ground."

A beat, as he tries to pretend he didn't just drop his smiling facade for a moment. "Or, you know, just keep trying. Forgive and forget."

"Be the bigger person and all that. Let them lick your boots when you show that you're awesome."

His bravado was quieter now, since he was fighting the urge to not show this side of him, but also she gets it. Maybe not in the same way as somebody from the Wasteland, but--!
"Where are you from, anyhow? I'm from the Mojave - uh, it's a big-ass desert. One of th'better places to live, believe it or not."
no subject
Well, that was what she remembered.
"Before that the sky."
Because Skyfaller sounds cool and mysterious.

"Well, before the Mojave, I was from Nebraska. More th'underground then there, though."
this is the most perrin has said about his background to ANYBODY. But he suddenly looks awkward, before changing the subject. "So you and Ingo know each other, then? Uh, I mean. Shouldn't assume everybody knows you, even if you seem like th'sort who's had t'be known."

Gotta keep being cool in the popular girl (Sneasler)'s eyes after all.

A beat. "I don't know much about these guys. My place didn't have 'em, you know? But that sounds like the sort of name a Pokemon would have. Sort of a pun."
no subject
"Yeah some have cute names, like Pikachu."
