When he gets close enough, and just as his line of sight starts to dip with the now snapping vine, he makes a leap for it, managing to land onto the platform and sliding straight into the tree trunk it’s wrapped around with full force. He immediately flops over.
But, even with a pounding heart and throbbing head now, he cranes his neck to look up at Siffrin, an exhausted smile on his face. ] We... made it.

[That.. worked?]
[2/2] is this... maybe the first time I've ever used this icon... stares at hands
We made it!! [They echo back, delighted. Nobody dropped to the forest floor and broke their neck! (And they didn't even get caught being extremely stupid by any of the senior guild members!)]
[The rain is still absolutely pouring down, but this little platform is sheltered - while it's still damp, the two of them are only getting dripped in every once in a while, thanks to the layered leaves overhead and how far down they've dropped. Siffrin flops down near Laios, practically deflating in relief (and completely forgetting that they started off cranky). Nothing builds camaraderie like getting yourself into and out of a death trap together!]
IS THIS WHAT IT'S LIKE TO GET THE RAREST HOLO IN A PACK
It doesn't last long though, exhaustion taking over him just as Siffrin settles in close. He shifts his position again, laying on his stomach now, front paws tucked in under for warmth. ]
Just in time too! Look at how bad the rain's getting. [ He sighs, looking ahead at the assortment of trees, before glancing at Siffrin with a tilt of his head. It's easy to be comfortable with a stranger after a near-death experience, that's for certain. ] ... I guess we just have to get used to this, don't we?

[Either way, though, Siffrin is pretty sure,] Yeah. I don't think we really have a choice...?
[They stretch out their front paws in front of them and rest their head down on top. Their glow has basically died down, but every once in a while the storm and the charged atmosphere makes sparks jitter over their fur.]
[Abruptly Siffrin realizes something and lifts their head, ears folding back.] We're gonna have to fix the vines we broke tomorrow, aren't we.
[Or whenever the storm is over. Either way: oh boy.]

[ Comfortable now, he can't help but close his eyes, only to open one lazily when Siffrin mentions the vines. Oh boy indeed, but he seems rather unbothered. It may be the exhaustion. ] Ah, yeah... that whole path is a mess now. It shouldn't be so bad though, once the rain stops. [ When you're that close to death, chores don't seem as terrible anymore. ] At least now we know we can make it back when we fall again. [ If! He meant if! ]
