Here I was thinking I was the only one. That thing is... a lot.

[ He sighs with a lighthearted tone. Having a whole computer and then some in his pocket just sounds like a nightmare. ]

They mostly pull the good stuff out for special occasions. Maybe we should think of setting up shop here. Make it more of a regular thing.

[ His head tilts as he picks up another rock, adding: ] Can... can you even drink like that? [ Alcohol and mushrooms? Not a mix he knows anything about. ]

Oh, yeah! I think I can drink though my legs, otherwise if I put things where my mouth should be I can eat and drink.

[Kinger doesn't know if it would be good for him, but it's never really supposed to be good for you. More rock sorting, etc etc.]

It's a shame my friend Zooble isn't here, they'd love the chance to run a bar again.

[And the chance to swear, something Kinger usually doesn't take advantage of because it's weird after so long being able to swear uncensored.]

That must be an adjustment. [ At least being a rat isn't too far off from what Bigby's used to. He shakes his head with a grin. ] Let's just hope they wind up with some hands to mix drinks with.

[ Kinger, Zooble... those names aren't exactly out of place amongst the likes of Flycatcher and the Tweedles, but they still get him curious. ]

Where exactly did you say you were from again? Zooble isn't really a common [ mundy ] name where I'm from.

[Kinger laughs a little.] That's a complicated question.

[Bigby would understand the explanation more than the medieval fantasy characters, but would be much less interested, so Kinger will give the brief version this time.]

We were trapped inside of a computer world, and we all forgot our names from Earth. The artificial intelligence who suggested new ones was a little eccentric.

[ Even that brief explanation immediately makes him stop what he's doing. ]

Trapped in a computer? [ The dread in his voice is almost palpable. ] And now you're— ... you're here.

[ Sure there's plenty possible even with the limited magic that exists in the mundane world, but technology can't go that far. ]

You're not screwing with me, are you? I thought that only happened in movies.

[ Maybe he's heard of Tron. Definitely wasn't on his watchlist though. ]

I thought so too. We had a genius on our team who managed to figure it out, though. I don't remember what he was trying to make, but it sure wasn't what we ended up with. Or at least if it was, Caine had other ideas.

[Kinger gives a small chuckle.]

I knew we were on the cutting edge, but there's a line between revolutionary and impossible, and somehow Scratch crossed that line.

[wolfcut]

[ The AI having other ideas immediately gets under his skin. ]

There's a reason I don't trust that stuff. People forget there's a cost to every magic solution.

[ He tosses a few more rocks into their corresponding piles, then just glances at Kinger. ]

So this is your first time out of there in however long? Feels a bit... I don't know. Bittersweet, I guess.
