Who: Tomoro and Various [open]
What: Quests, electricity control
Where: Outside the city, quest locations
When: First half of May
Outside the Bay, Tomoro was practicing.
He had been training for some time with Umemiya in regards to controlling his electricity. That had been going...adequately. But now was time for him to take on some effort on his own. It was different from simply funneling more e-pulse into Gekkomon, for he had to be careful to hold back his electrical power, lest he pour too much into a single attack. Where giving Gekkomon more e-pulse was largely beneficial, letting his electricity spark out of control was largely a bad idea.
How was he making the attempt to curb such an out of control charge? By releasing his Discharge attack in the forest, where no one could get hurt by it, and attempting to hold back any electricity that tried to spark off afterwards. And he did it again, and again, and again, succeeding in weakening the offshoots each time, until he finally managed to keep it from happening entirely.
Except...
"I don't know if I'm succeeding or if I'm just using up my electricity," he sighed to himself, the young Toxitricity slumping against a tree as he took a rest. His scales felt raw, from releasing so much energy over and over, and his body felt drained and tired. Was he making progress or just running himself ragged?
He wish he had some idea which one it was.

"They gave me a good deal on the pastries!" Catrina...honey...they likely were clearing out the old pastries...honey...
no subject
"Yeah, uh. These don't look fit for consumption. Go back in there and get something fresh."
no subject
Catrina is determined to use this batch of 'perfectly good' croissants that she got and damn it all, she was gonna make this work. Catrina takes a good sip from her cup of nectar while doing so.
no subject
But he's not trying the mud. Something occurs to him, and he thinks of an idea.
"Let's set them all out then, and blast them with our attacks. Your flames and ,y electricity. That'll heat 'em up."
no subject
"Let's do it, it sounds freaking hilarious and I wanna see the end results for it."
There was no going back from this, Catrina was sold and fully onboard with this mayhem presented to her, debatable cup of mud being forgotten for the time being.
no subject
"Your approval of my idea fills me with shame, but let's do it anyway."
And with that, he began setting the various baked goods out on the ground.
no subject
"Hell yeah let's go through with it! It's gonna be so badass."
Catrina helps with the line up for the sacrificial electrocution and fire for the croissants. If only Catrina had something edible to draw faces onto the baked goods with..
no subject
"Okay, let's do this. 3...2...1...!"
He does his best to release a focused burst of Discharge directed at the croissants. It's unfocused and barely contained, but to his credit, he manages to avoid hitting Catrina.

Once the smoke has cleared from it...holy shit it actually worked. The croissants have been caramelized to perfection thanks to the light dusting of pollen on top.
"Damn...I was like expecting it to be more charcoal like."
no subject
He picked one up, and tried one. His eyes widened, and he quickly took another bite and swallowed it.
"Taste great too-!"
no subject
It takes Catrina a moment or two to try it out despite the disappointing lack of charcoal being involved. It took only one bite before Catrina was hooked, inhaling her croissant in one go.
"Hot damn, these really are good!"

Says the Toxitricity who's literally almost done with the one he started. Nevertheless, he sighs.
"I swear, having you around is like I never need to miss Gekkomon, sometimes."
no subject
"Gekkomon? Was that one your familiar or something before hand?"
Small multiverse this is, or at least in Catrina's mind, likewise, she had familiars too, but...they were somehow far worse than she is. This place was like a nice vacation from them.
no subject
"No," he says after swallowing. "He was my Digimon partner. It's kind of like a Pokémon, but different. We fought alongside each other. A familiar sounds like something out of a fantasy anime."
no subject
"Well fuck." Catrina started as for once she thought carefully on her next words. "Back where I came from, we had familiars. They're something yah made yourself with little bits of said self in there. Mine were the bone clay kind by the names of Danza, Canto, and Estelle. Danza is the only violent one I have, they like getting into knives."
no subject
"Uh...huh. Those definitely sound like the kind of creatures that would come from you would act like. But like...they might have something in common with Digimon after all, because apparently when a Digimon is born, they're a mirror of their human partner's true self or something. At least, that's what my friend Makoto said to me."
no subject
Nah...it was more like Catrina is still navigating how to make sound effects as a candle...she misses having Sound Defect.

He sighed, and looked at the rest of their gains. "What are we supposed to do with the rest of these, again?"
no subject
And Catrina's tirade has been derailed by one single question. "Shit, I think we're suppose to bring 'em over to Mayaka to try out."
no subject
At the reminder, however, he turned serious.
"Oh, that's right! Let's get these to senpai, on the double!"
And he's gathering them up, all quick like.
no subject
......
Was it legal to look serious around Catrina Muerte Calavera? Well, we're about to find out.
"Hell yeah! Let's get these to Mayaka and have her try 'em. Also, do I get to be called Senpai too?"
