[ The Ring-Spirit has been feeling the need to work on his battling capabilities ever since he helped rescue Smoochum back in March... and the disturbing discovery made during Tangela's more recent rescue only made the importance of combat practice more clear.

So! He makes arrangements during the month to meet up with various other pokemon to spar - not on the coast (CERTAINLY not after hearing out Tangela), nor too deep into the forest, but just outside of town enough that they won't have to worry too much about the uninvolved getting caught in the crossfire. ]


[A] - Meeting as Arranged!
[ If you previously agreed (in person or over pearl) to meet with the Ring-Spirit to spar, you'll find him already waiting at the location when you arrive. He perks up on seeing you. ]

You want to stretch or something first, or get right to it?


[B] - Who You??
[ If you're not someone he's expecting to meet up with, but you linger long enough that he starts thinking you're seeking his attention, he'll be a little ruder. He has plans! ]

...Yeah? What do you want?

[Anasui had just been doing some patrolling before he saw the Ring-Spirit. The Espathra hadn't meant to stare at him, he just wanted to see whether or not this was the other Mimikyu - the one he actually wanted to talk to.

Even though he's been at Bottlecap Bay for a month, Anasui had not made any attempt to get to know his neighbours. He's been more or less keeping to himself, save for missions and trips to the archives. That being said, he still recognises the annoying Mimikyu from the clinic that followed him around as his neighbour.

Anasui scoffs and shakes his head at the tiny Pokemon.]

Nothing. Why would I want anything from you? [It's fine if the spirit is rude because Anasui will be ruder!]

[improvking]

Good question~!

[ He sounds almost friendly for a moment! Then he huffs loudly and shuffles closer, staring down (up at) his (tall) adversary. ]

Better question is, if you don't want anything from me, what are you staring for? Am I just that easy on the eyes?

[dripdrive]

[Now that he's actually talking to him, Anasui stares right back at the Ring-Spirit with his large, unblinking eyes. He doesn't even bother lowering his head, letting the other Pokemon approach him. He snorts.]

Hardly. That's literally why you have to wear a sack on your head. [Anasui no.] You're more yellow than the other one. Your cloak's tattier too. [That's almost an answer to the first question... Almost...]

[improvking]

[ Silence. Unimpressed staring back - from both the drawn-on eyes of his costume and the faint glowing from behind the eyeholes in its "torso".

...

Finally, a deadpan: ]

Last I checked, Shoka had an earring. That's an easier tell to memorize.

[Anasui rolls his eyes.]

Who pays attention to things such as accessories? They change easily. But now that I've heard your voice I may be able to tell you two apart.

[What an annoying thing...]

[ His "head" cocks to one side. ]

Now why would anyone change accessories? It might confuse other people~

[ Said in... a distressingly good imitation of Shoka's voice. This little shit. ]

[He more said that to imply he wouldn't bother telling them apart. The Ring-Spirit isn't important enough for that... and yet here his words have been turned against him. Anasui rolls his eyes.]

Fun trick. You practice that often? Is that why you're in the woods all by yourself?

[improvking]

It's a way to kill time~.

[ At least he's using his own voice again. ]

But what I'm doing is none of your concern, now is it.

[dripdrive]

Hmph. [Anasui bites back a smart remark.]

It isn't. But you're the one who asked me what I wanted. You approached me. Almost like you want to fight.

[improvking]

...You were staring at me.

[ Said like this ought to be self-explanatory. Obviously staring at someone else is the same thing as picking a fight. Therefore Anasui picked the fight first! ]

[dripdrive]

What I do in the woods is none of your concern.

[The threat in Anasui's eyes and voice evident. You want to go, little man?]

Maybe it wouldn't be if you knew how to keep your eyes to yourself. But no! You start boring holes into me with them, and then take offense that I notice?

[ ...Ring-Spirit are you even listening to yourself. This is absurd.

Also he's started waving his tail-stick, slowly enough that the return threat is evident but not imminent. He is (unwisely) not afraid of you, giant bird! ]

[dripdrive]

[Anasui would never do something horrific to someone who didn't deserve it. That said, he has no qualms in following through the words a wise man once said: "Talk shit, get hit."

Espathras are fast. He dashes straight towards RS and stops right before him. Then, with a scowl, he kicks the Mimikyu as hard as he can.]

[improvking]

[ Anasui doesn't have to run far - the Ring-Spirit had closed most of the gap already. The Mimikyu doesn't have a chance to react before the kick connects. The air kicked out of him forms an Astonish on its way out: ]

Motherfuck!

[ Shouted even as he goes flying, the attempted Astonish probably goes very wide of its mark. But hey, he tried.

The Ring-Spirit really does go flying, too. Just zooming through the air very satisfyingly, like a kicked plushie.

It's only a moment later that a dark shadow zips along the ground back into view, the Ring-Spirit utilizing Shadow Sneak to return to the scene - he got kicked far enough that this usage definitely won't connect with Anasui, but it gets the Mimikyu back into fighting distance. ]

[dripdrive]

[He did try. Even if it did hit though, Anasui wouldn't have minded too much, even if it was super-effective. That was so worth it.

Anasui watches RS go flying, smirks and makes a move to leave but pauses when he spies the moving shadow. The smirk fades back into his usual frown.]

Didn't have enough yet? [Anasui asks as leers down at the Mimikyu.]

[improvking]

[ The Ring-Spirit pops back out of his shadow with another Astonish, the one much better aimed and within-range: ]

Wretched brat!

[ ...

RS, Anasui's a little old for that one... ]

[dripdrive]

[Well, we can't blame him. Anasui can be bratty AND relative to RS's age, he is a child.

Anasui tries to move but the Astonish (naturally) catches him off-guard. He winces at the damage - that did far more than he expected- and flinches.]

Hmph. You started it. [As far as Anasui is concerned, that's true. He tries to shake off the flinch quickly, aware RS can easily get another hit on him.]

[improvking]

I did not! [ Said unironcally, as if he's completely unaware of how childish that response is,, ] That was you, with your staring!

[ RS, really....

The Ring-Spirit has used up much of his ability to Shadow Sneak today already - so instead a shadowy claw reaches out and swipes at Anasui in a Scratch attack.

He seems very dedicated to blowing this out of proportion. ]

[dripdrive]

You did so! [Anasui growls back, also completely unaware of how childish he sounds.] Staring isn't a crime! Or is your brain as stuffed as your false head?

[Having flinched, Anasui doesn't have enough time to dodge out of the way. However, he still can retaliate. With a growl, he uses Peck on RS, right on the head.]

If you wanted to fight, just say so next time, bastard. You're really pissing me off.
