Noelle has vanished while recovering at the clinic and nobody can find her! She may have run away while having a mental health crisis. Please, bring her back safely!

Mightyena doesn't know where Noelle went, just that she was still in recovery when she vanished. She thought Noelle couldn't have gone far in her condition... but if that's the case, why hasn't she been found yet?

[ QUEST START ]

After a tense day of discussion, organizing and planning, Kris and Ingo gather the volunteers at the outskirts of Bottlecap Bay. Supplies are handed out, groups are chosen, and everyone is given a quick debriefing on the plan: start close to home, then work their way further out as they narrow down her location. Some groups should hang back, ready to set out once a fresh lead is established—the pearls are perfect for this, so everyone should keep their own handy. Spreading out too wide will only make things difficult once they find her trail, so it's important that everyone stays on task.

Once everyone's roles have been assigned, it's time to set out. It's going to be a long, long day.

[Kinger awkwardly drapes the wildly oversized coat around himself with his mycellium leg tendrils, settling on poking two of his mushrooms through the arm holes.]

My cape is back in the circus with my hands. I don't remember how I got this dress... Anyway, I'm Kinger!

[Having clearly and completely answered any questions, Kinger started to scuttle ahead along the trail.]

[ Ah. So Need is getting equated to someone like Kureha in Sanji's dumb girl-crazy brain. Someone to respect but who he will be less...overbearing on. This is ideal. Except the fact that she is two swords is making his eye twitch for some reason...he seems almost reluctant to give over the bags to her, complicated expressions clear on his face.] Name's Sanji. Now Sanji is maybe about 4 cm taller but he also has alot more area to cover as a vulpine pokemon. That's gonna be a very damp coat by the end of this, dragging like that. Sanji sighs. Circus huh? Like that Buggy guy? Anyway.] I miss having hands too- the dress was a gift from Madame Froslass and you should respect it as such!! You were honored with such- HEY, where the HELL ARE YA GOIN'-

[Sanji IMMEDIATELY starts chasing after the skittering mushroom, only taking one second to look back at Need with a strained smile.] Madame, I can feel a lady's distress from over there actually, so if you head that way I will be RIGHT with you to take those bags off your hands, my apologies- HEY MUSHROOM HEAD. WRONG WAY!!!!

[Need chuckles. Oh the energy of youth. She decides to remain quiet as Sanji yelps and scampers after Kinger, rather than trying to interject, and settles the bags. They're small enough for a Vulpix to haul around, so they're not too heavy, and she doesn't have to account for them thumping against her legs as she walks because: no legs, no walking. Funny how effortless levitation is here.

She swivels in the direction he indicated, looking back at them with the eye of the reversed sword, trying to... If anyone should be able to sense a lady in distress it should be her. It's written on her soul, her divinely-ordained purpose, to answer need of women and that means feeling it, to a point that can be very detrimental. Some kid shouldn't be able to pick up on it if she can't.

Does she feel some inclination, or does she just want to think she does? Need considers. Hard to tell. She'll just go on in this private introspective vein and silently glide forwards, keeping her speed low to keep from leaving them behind. Not that this form seems to move all that quickly to start.]

[Kinger turns around at Sanji's shouting.] Oh! Thank you, Curly Fox!

[Kinger moves to follow Need, awkwardly shuffling along with the heavy coat.] It helps having hands, but it must be weird getting used to being swords. I'm Kinger, by the way.

[What a great team! Everyone is super helpful and happy to do so. Kinger keeps to the back of the group to make sure that the magic fox can lead them to victory!]

[His eyebrow definitely doesn't twitch at the 'curly' moniker. Hits surprisingly close to home, more than he'd like to admit.] Whatever. You already introduced yourself. Did you hit your head or some shit... [He does in fact look over Kinger for head injuries, but can't locate any. Is he just like this? At least he's cooperating now.

It's habit now to look back every now and again whilst being in the lead. Certain mossballs tend to wander off. He huffs as he trots forward.] Yeah, swords seem to be a difficult vessel. I hope you are adjusting well, Madame Need? I can take those bags if you're- oh. There. Hold on. That's- [ He's immediately distracted by the tracks in the snow, and a few fallen small trees. His eyes narrow, and he sniffs around.] Those look like deer tracks, but with such damage...the poor lady must be in more trouble than we'd thought! Hurry!!!

[Sensing she has only a moment to respond, Need puts in:]

Sweet of you, but don't worry about it.

[she's not getting into what's actually difficult for her in circumstances like these. Sanji in particular chatters and jumps around so much she'd have to shout to get more than a word or two in edgewise.]

You two can go ahead of me. I'll catch up in a minute.

[She wants to examine the scene, put together what happened and how long ago. Do some calculations. Need's impulse is that the trail is over fifteen minutes old, likely more; among other factors, they'd have heard the wood break from some distance. But of course she has to check.]

Oh, I just wanted to make sure you knew I wasn't Mushroom Head. [Kinger's eyes go wide in what he thinks is understanding.] Ohhh, we're using codenames, got it!

[Kinger starts following instructions to go along the trail, but turns around before he gets too far.] You okay, Spooky Swords?

IT'S NOT CODENAMES IT'S JUST- ughhh forget it-- [Sanji is just a brat who likes to be cool and use nicknames for his fellow dudes/people he picks on. Don't think too hard about it Kinger. Also sorry Need, Sanji just has WAY too much energy. He's already sniffing at the trees and the tracks and everything. He even chews on some of the fallen bark. Why? Why not??

Still, he stops to listen to both his companions, but he grins brightly specifically at Need.] If you insist Madame!! [And with a flick of curly tails, he's off, absolutely tearing through the snow and fallen leaves.] MISS NOELLE?? CAN YOU HEAR ME??? MISS????

[His ears swivel around when they seem to pick up something other than wind. Is that...oh! It very well might be a lady's voice, calling in distress!! This gentleman is ON HIS WAY!!!

Kinger, whenever y'all catch up, the figure stuck under the fallen tree is uh. Well. You may be the only one able to tell pretty fast that's proooobably not Noelle. But Sanji is darting toward them like his life depends on it....]

[Unless Noelle has found a way to turn back into a human, that is not Noelle. That also isn't Noelle's voice. Also, is that even a human?]

Sanji, I don't think that's—

[Kinger is cut off by the Jynx operatically calling for help again. Well, no reason not to help someone else in need along the way! Kinger scuttles after Sanji to help in whatever way a 9" mushroom can, even if he's not sure what that is yet.]
