Noelle has vanished while recovering at the clinic and nobody can find her! She may have run away while having a mental health crisis. Please, bring her back safely!

Mightyena doesn't know where Noelle went, just that she was still in recovery when she vanished. She thought Noelle couldn't have gone far in her condition... but if that's the case, why hasn't she been found yet?

[ QUEST START ]

After a tense day of discussion, organizing and planning, Kris and Ingo gather the volunteers at the outskirts of Bottlecap Bay. Supplies are handed out, groups are chosen, and everyone is given a quick debriefing on the plan: start close to home, then work their way further out as they narrow down her location. Some groups should hang back, ready to set out once a fresh lead is established—the pearls are perfect for this, so everyone should keep their own handy. Spreading out too wide will only make things difficult once they find her trail, so it's important that everyone stays on task.

Once everyone's roles have been assigned, it's time to set out. It's going to be a long, long day.

Hmph... Maybe your guild's expects it. [However, it's clear by Anasui's tone that his guild would agree. They should look after those they encountered as much as they should pursue their goal.

The larger bird clicks his tongue irately, realising that Ren is right. However, then he walks over and dumps his much larger satchel next to the duo, letting them get to his stash of oran berries and leppa berries. There's even an Aspear berry there too, though the Snover won't need it.]

[Ren shoots Anasui a quick, grateful smile. He may not have liked the big bird initially, but he's growing on Ren.]

Here- have another Oran Berry, [he says, handing one over from the stash.] Are you feeling better? Can you tell us about the one who did this?

[The Snover still looks a bit shaken, but they nod as they munch on the berry. Once it's finished, they start talking about a deer-like Pokemon who rampaged through the area- clearly, the one they're talking about is Noelle. They don't exactly know how long it's been- they were out cold for a while, but they're not the only one. Last they saw, their friend, Sneasel, was still fighting the deer, and the longer they talk, the more distressed they become. They plead for the trio to go find their friend- if they do, maybe Sneasel can tell them more about the deer, too!]

Sneasel, then, [Ren nods.] Don't worry, we'll find your friend. Thanks for the info.

[With the Snover seemingly pacified, Akechi takes to the air again, eyes ahead.]

I encountered a Weavile not too long ago. She was among the new arrivals. If this Sneasel is in any way similar, we should expect a dark furred, clawed creature with a pink feather on its head.

[So, with the description given, he presses on.]

[Anasui also is looking around, first looking for anything else Noelle may have left behind and then looking for Sneasel when he hears the Snover mention them. The Espathra paces back and forth slowly, and his efforts are rewarded when he spies a frayed piece of feather at a base of a tree. Using his psychic powers, Anasui lifts it up and looks at it, then upwards at the bark of the tree.]

... This Pokemon, Sneasel, seems to have been climbing trees to dodge oncoming attacks. If we follow Noelle's rampage, we should be able to find them. Keep your eye out for anyone knocked out in or around the trees here.

[Since Snover seems alright, Anasui will follow Akechi's lead, frowning as he goes.]

[Literally, heh. Still, this is a task better left to Akechi and Anasui. Ren can climb... but they'll need eyes on the ground, too. He doesn't immediately spot anyone in the destruction, but it's very clear Noelle came through.

But then-]

Hey- look over here!

[Footprints in the snow. Relatively fresh, from the looks of it. Seems like someone with clawed feet came through... though they appear uneven, and as if they've stumbled multiple times.]

[Needless to say, Akechi swoops down to take a look. Multiple footsteps, uneven and clawed... Certainly not Noelle, and yet...]

They must be close. The footprints aren't too dissimilar to the Weavile I met recently...

[So, clearly, their next course of action is to push forward.]

[Anasui also hurries over, but he takes advantage of the fact he has a long neck to stretch over the other two so his own footprints or presence doesn't mask the Sneasel's.]

Then this is our guy. They couldn't have gone far... But judging by this limp, we may need to be ready to do some triage and then get them back to the clinic.

[But first, they move! The group will find that the prints stray away from the path through the forest Noelle's carved, if only slightly, before coming down to a small burrow under a tangle of scraggly branches.]

... Tch... Far too small for me. Your turn, you two.

[Ren nods at Anasui, then at Akechi.]

Sneasel may still be in a panicked state. We best be careful.

[He crouches down, carefully approaching the burrow, his nose twitching... someone is definitely inside.]

Hello? Are you Sneasel? We're guild members, and we're here to help. Are you hurt?

[... There is no reply.]

[It would be unwise to approach too carelessly, so Akechi remains in a low hover, in case he has to move or otherwise blow back an incoming attack.]

They may be unconscious. That, or unwilling to take chances after the recent attacks.

[Anasui hangs back since he's wary of Sneasel responding aggressively. However, he can still hear Ren talking to them gently and Akechi's firm words. He sighs quietly behind the two of them.]

We're going to dig you out unless you say something or tell us to stay back. This is a warning.

[He won't act unless the other two give him the cue to but he's ready to use his claws to rescue the potentially unconscious Pokemon.]

[Ren's ears pin back briefly, leaning forwards a little to try and get a better look...

... but there is no response. He can't see Sneasel either, so it's hard to say what exactly is going on, either. Regardless, he turns to his companions, nodding.]

Let's dig them out. Anasui?

[If anyone's the- er, bird for the job, it's him.]
