[and Roar.

They've had some practice with that one. Worked pretty well while they were stuck in the middle of nowhere. Also worked on Noelle. Susie would be proud.

A few more of the ghosts scatter, shrieking with fear(?)(or maybe it's delight at being bested?)... although, it's not as effective as it could've been. The strongest of the Pumpkaboo, undeterred by speed drops and a low-level Roar, merely cackle back at them and pop back into their hiding spots.

... but are they actually hiding?]

[They were almost starting to have fun with this, too. The shriek is loud enough to make Kris jump even from a distance, followed by the thunk of a large sunflower seed toppling onto its side. They can't see what's happening, but—]

Hey! [pain in the ass or not, that's still their teammate getting attacked. They charge in, putting themselves between Flowey and the band of gourdly specters.] The joke's getting stale, get some new material.

[Stubbornly, they are still not attacking... but if one of them decides to push their luck with the Deino, it's simply in their nature to bite anything that comes within range. Prepare to get auto-parried, losers.]

[There's no way they would see the seed coming—but they feel their body tense, ready to dodge.

... yet, they still hesitate. Because if they moved now, Flowey would be undefended.

Their feet stay rooted in place, making the split-second decision to try deflecting it instead. It doesn't go as planned. The seed latches onto their body, the only thing they have to block with, vines rapidly sprouting to dig into their fur. They can't even reach it with their teeth from this angle. Bad.

The Pumpkaboos on the sidelines laugh even harder. No way are they gonna lose to a bunch of clowns.]

Was that supposed to be an attack? I barely even felt it. [Is Taunting them going to help? Maybe?? If they can beat up the ringleader the smaller ghosts might leave, but they need to get the damn thing in biting-range first—and Kris is decidedly Not leaving Flowey to fend for himself.]
