Recent sightings have been made of an unknown Pokemon within Furnace Mountain - descriptions include a metallic scent, glittering eyes, and flower-like shapes, and witnesses are wary of their intentions.
Due to local tension, we have determined it best to investigate the identity and whereabouts of this Pokemon, to determine if they are a threat to others. We now call on any Pokemon able to weather extreme heat, resist potentially toxic materials, and scent through burning environments to band together for this search.
Report to Polteageist for more information.

... but then they notice Laios is breathing strangely. His steps are all off kilter, too—they can't see him wobbling, but they can still hear something is off... it'd be hard not to, when all of their enemies have been disoriented just like this.
Kris frowns, turning slightly to Emporio.]
... Are you okay? [Please, at least one of them has to be fine right now.]

Except, then he remembers- ...Ground Pokemon might not be immune to poison exactly, but they're at least Resistant.
And for that matter, nearly every attack he has involves long distance. That or beating a Pokemon with something other than himself.
Between that and the fact that he isn't the sort to bite directly into poisoned...rocks??? What the heck leaves poisoned rocks, is there a malachite Pokemon out there??? ...Well.]
I- I'm not poisoned but...
[Right, no time for this. He needs to look for some berries, and stat. There has to be at least one...maybe two? He'll split one in half if he has to, it...
...
What he pulls out looks more like raisins.]
Uh....
[Pink raisins.]
...th...these were the last Pecha berries...

E-Emporio. Combine what we have. [ Laios sits, shrugging the pack off himself. It's time to get serious. ] And look through that too. It w-won't be enough, but it'll tide us over.
[ He helps rustle through their supplies too, banged up as they are from the various battles they've encountered. There's a few mushed up Oran berries. Not effective for poison, but maybe all together they'd help keep it from fully setting in for longer. ]
Kris and I can't exert too much energy right now. We'll need— [ He shudders mid-sentence. ] ... w-we have to take it slow.
[ He pauses, looking over his shoulder to look past the path they took to get here. No telling how many more Pokémon might be ready for another fight if they go back that way. He clears his throat, blinking hard through the queasiness. ]
Staying around here isn't the best idea, but... m-maybe another party might come along. Sh-should we send a message?

... and swerve, the first waves of dizzying nausea finally deciding to strike. They narrowly avoiding tripping over the toxic spike they dropped ten seconds ago, which would've been really embarrassing. Their Soul forces them to take several more steps before they abruptly stop. The ground still feels likes its wobbling beneath them, shaking up through their legs with a growing intensity.
They're surprised it doesn't just make them go the rest of the way anyway... but they're not going to complain. They take a few seconds to steady themselves.]
Feeling bad. [In case they wanted an update—turns out eating poison does get you poisoned.
There's still an awkward gap between them and the other two, so hopefully they don't mind Kris tossing their pack on the ground a few feet away from the rest. They got the direction (mostly) right. Their combined inventory now has a few more (shrivelled, smushed) berries of varying relevance and several dozen rocks of no relevance.]
Close to the forest. Could find more there? [... it'd be easier than finding berries in a volcano, at least? It's not the worst idea.]

AH-] C-careful- [he starts reflexively, running to try and support the Deino. He ultimately stops when the Deino manages not to fall over, and carefully takes the third pack to begin consolidating resources.]
It does look like our trail is going that way...and I remember reading that most of the berries related to status conditions are all season growers. We could possibly find some...

The forest... n-not a bad idea. [ The worry in his voice is obvious, even if he's trying to keep it low. Regardless of any obstacles they might encounter, it's really the only option they have. ] We just need to take it slow before we find more.
[ With that, he takes a deep breath, pushing himself back onto all fours and tugging his pack back on once Emporio is done with it. What a journey this is turning out to be. ]
Kris and I, w-we can scent out the right direction, but Emporio... you m-might need to gather most of it.
[ He frowns at the little Cubone, but it's what they have to do. With a small shudder, he goes ahead, each step taken carefully and with a pit growing in his stomach. Once they enter the forest, the smell of berries should be easy enough to track. ]
