Alternatively check up on your friends to make sure they're not dead! or y'know you're at the clinic for different reasons/volunteering/actually sharing the new lore we all just got/whatever you want ok i'm not a cop anyone is welcome here, it's a public space

They're a bit wobbly even with the support, and there are still some bandages clinging to their fur. The worst of it is internal, though... so they really should be resting. Not that they're expecting to get that right now.

And they're old enough to swear if they want to!!! ... but they can't read minds, so they just tilt their head a little at the awkward pause, interpreting it as Siffrin being bad at coming up with puns.

Rocked, though. Understandable. Maybe if they could actually see that would be more obvious.

"Cool." That is definitely not the appropriate response to someone telling them they were crushed by rocks, but walking up to random people and asking why they're in the clinic isn't much of an appropriate starting point. So fuck it.

A misconception that would wound Siffrin to the core if only they knew... fortunately, they also can't read minds! Which in turn means that all they really see is the wobbliness. That's enough to have them continue holding their paw in place, even as it twinges sorely.

They shake their head a little as they try to catch up, ear flopping about, and then adopt the tone of the conversation. It's honestly kind of easier to deal with a response like this.
