[ he does a little walk around the general area first, taking it all in. man, he really wishes he had his phone, but certainly they'll be able to gather it all... ugh, what he wouldnt give to be able to enchant a couple of rakes, though. ]
Where're you from?

I'm from Japan. Have you heard of it?
[She continues sweeping at the ground her claws, tossing a few quiet glances at Cater, wondering why he hasn't started helping out yet.]

[ yes, he really did say "f" and "r". ]
You're like, the second or third person I've heard say that.
That's where the prefect who came from another world said they were from.
i guess this is how i find out twst is an isekai
Yeah, there are a few of us here, though everyone seems to be from a different version of it. [Which is also why she isn't too confused to hear that this prefect Cater knows also seems to have fallen between worlds.]
Anyway, Cay-kun, quit standing around and come help me with this!
RIP... SURPRISE...
[ he doesn't seem to notice he's been sitting there for a minute since he's been staring in awe at yet another person from Japan, but before he hops her way, he squats down to grab what he's got near him. taking a few steps back from the brush he'd scrounged under, he makes a face.
this would be easier if he had his camera... then they could mark what they've done so far. but then again, if he focuses hard enough, he notices the plant is the only one around them that has a tree with a split-trunk behind it. Riddle always said song, rhyming, and repetition are good for memorization, and it did help on that last test...
he hops another step back, raises his free paw to his hand as if holding his camera phone, and then winks while making a clicking sound with his mouth. ]
Two-trunk tree, clear as can be~
[ he hums to himself, before finally turning Mayaka's way again. ]

Cay-kun... are you slacking off right now?
[She's already filled half the basket since they got here!]

[ ah, is that what it looks like? Cater's got a solution, though. ]
It sure seems like a lot, huh? How about we call in an extra pair of hands?
[ and with another hop, Cater splits into two, and then three— he's using double team, but it seems that his clones are pretty mobile! ]
Okay, Cay-two and Cay-three, why don't we help our new friend a little harder, huh?
[ the "clones" can't speak on their own, and they'll only last as long as a battle would, which means Cater's got them on the clock. they give Cater a salute instead of a spoken affirmative, and one darts to help Mayaka specifically, while the other hops to a section a way aways from Mayaka. both of them stay within a fair distance of the first Cater, though.
the original Cater takes what he has to the basket, and then returns to collect from the Cater that had scampered off on its own, stepping back once again to pull his little fake camera trick. after all, the so-called clones can't memorize anything for him! ]

[That was the last thing she expected to see, and accidentally knocks over the basket in her shock. Cay-two is there to right it and pick up all the materials that had spilled onto the floor, plus some extras. Mayaka watches on in stunned silence, wondering what kind of ability this is.]
2/2
It's a clever trick, but don't you think it still counts as slacking if you're getting your clones to do most of the work instead of you?
[Mayaka's just being difficult. She'll acknowledge that Cater chipped in as well... though Cay-two and Cay-three definitely looked like they covered a lot more ground.]

Woopsie...
Ah, hey! These guys are 100% Real Caters!
Iii think, anyway.
[ he can't actually tell what it is about this move that works so much differently than his clones back home, actually. ]
Besides, everyone's got a job in the assembly line here! Cos it looks like there's just oooone last spot we missed.
[ he points to the side, and the last remaining Cater clone hops with him to attend to it. ]

I guess you just have a different way of doing things, [she says with a huff.]
So... I'll take it back. You're not a slacker. I just get irritated when it looks like people don't put in effort into stuff they're responsible for.

[ wait, all that nonsense, and he's not even trying to preserve his self-image? ]
I'm a proud slacker, buuut I don't like to leave a gal hanging.

[Being called cute has no effect when it's paired with that brazen declaration of laziness!!]
At least you're honest about it.
