Impromptu Oran Sleepover
Who: Oran newbies
What: Having fun with communal dens
When: Sometime after Mightyena gathered them up
Where: The Spire, low tier dens
Warnings: Will add if anything comes up, but not anticipating anything
[As everyone knows by now, the Oran Berries depend heavily on communal living, sharing a bed is simply to be expected. For some, this experience was temporary. Mightyena was kind enough to lend the mysterious misplaced Pokémon a place to rest, but now some of them have moved on.
For others, this is now a part of life, and it's time to get used to it. The Oran Berries value treating everyone like friends and family, after all, so you're expected to do the same! Why not have some fun with it?
Whether you've noticed your fellow newcomers are all gathering in one den, or you suddenly find yourself dragged into the the party against your will, everyone is invited! Everyone's going through the same thing, belong to the same guild, you gotta stick together.....right?]
[[ooc: Feel free to use this as a mingle log! We have nine Oran Berries (I think???) and although the dens are said to hold up to eight, I think some members are small enough that we should be able to include everyone!]]

[She's far from a forthcoming person, but any secrets she might have mean nothing here. There's nothing a complete stranger could think to ask that she'll have much trouble answering or deflecting... Or so she thinks.]
Truth. Ask away.
no subject
Tell me something about you that no one would expect. I won't blab about it-- scout's honor.
[Very legitimate words from the guy who's been skulking around a summer camp for an indeterminate amount of time.]
no subject
[This isn't entirely true. Naturally perceptive, she notices what other people might think of her; she just generally doesn't care.
Absently, she studies her claws, flexing them before the eye-holes of her disguise rag.]
I guess other 'mons who see this cutesy fit I've got on might think I'm nice and cuddly, then get all let down when they realize I'm pretty much the opposite, hah. That count? Otherwise, I might need a little hand on this one... What do you expect me to be like?
no subject
It helps to keep you out of a pinch. You want to know what's going on around you, don't you?
[Actually it's a pretty good perspective not to care what people expect of you, but that's not a space in which your faults are at the front of your mind. And then how is Dark Heart supposed to find a space to take advantage of someone's doubts, huh?]
So that's what you think? That you're feisty and mean? [He rolls over, smiling at that.] You seem like you've got it figured out.
[What a non-answer!]
no subject
[Her disinterest in what's going on around her is sold with a shrug of her ghostly arms.]
Basically. I know I piss people off. They tell me as much to my face.
[And if they weren't pissed off, they were at least wounded by her words. Even a few here—A.B.A included—have asked her outright how she could be so cruel... and yet, perhaps tellingly, she's still willingly sharing a bed with none other than A.B.A right now, leaned against the softest of her feathers. She is feisty and mean, but she also cares—but that's unexpected even to herself. Genuinely, she does believe herself to be unpleasant, cruel, and broken in some fundamental way others aren't, despite her capability for great kindness.]
If that's all you got, then it's your turn: truth or dare?
no subject
Now that's a talent! [Tail swaying eagerly.] Seems like you're getting rave reviews.
[Direct feedback truly is the best means of improvement in your social life. Not often that one gets their survey results delivered instantly! Knowing how to get under someone's skin is beneficial. This is obviously a plus.]
Oh, me? [He hums, thoughtfully.] Fair's fair-- truth it is.
[A dare seems more fun but he'll be so for real right now, he cannot be fucked to get up. Dark Heat was already cozy in bed before ABA air-lifted him out.]
no subject
[She snickers—and then takes a moment to study him.]
Hmm. Why don't you tell me something about you that no one would expect? Fair's fair, right?
no subject
[Nothing menacing about it-- almost complimentary!]
About me, huh? [He hums. Most people wouldn't expect that he's got an ounce of earnestness or caring inside of him-- Dark Heart included. That's probably the big one. As if he'll say that. Instead, he goes for runner-up;] How old do you think I am?
[Probably hard to tell in these forms anyway but details.]
no subject
[Immediate, wild guess.]
no subject
[Immediate, stupid question.]
no subject
[For a fox, maybe!]
no subject
[She's funny. He likes that. Dark Heart shrugs, casual.]
I don't keep count. Most people think I'm quite young.
no subject
[It is a bit of a surprise, actually. He does sound young—and what does he even mean by he doesn't keep count?
A less wild guess, then:]
I'm guessing you were something other than human before, then?
no subject
[Something other than human, that is. Would be way cool if he could still be every other living thing at once but! Life goes on! (said screaming and crying)]
no subject
no subject
[talking about themselves freely? never. its purely game time.]
no subject
[Bummer! She sighs lightly.]
Fair enough. Gimme another truth, then.
no subject
What do you really think about all this? [Nodding to the room at large as he says it.] Pokemon, guilds, teamwork. Maybe I'm wrong, but it doesn't seem like your idea of fun.
no subject
[Everything was a steep price to pay for it. None of it has been enough for her not to prefer the thought of just being done instead.]
As for the teamwork thing... [She glances around the too-small den at its cramped beds and the huddled-together forms of her guildmates, and snorts.] Yeah, can't say that being crammed into this dump with all you losers is the first thing that comes to mind when I think of fun... Way too chummy around here. And like I said, I'm not exactly popular. Definitely not the hardest worker either. No clue why anyone would even want me to join their little clubs in the first place...
[She thinks of Mightyena and Ribombee—how both of them had fought for the right to have her in their guilds. Like it was some kind of privilege. Like she was worth something. That was bizarre—but it made her feel kind of good, too. Almost the same way she'd felt when the Shinjuku Reapers first took her in.
She looks sidelong at A.B.A then, and some thought she experiences then changes her tone from flippant to almost solemn.]
... But I dunno. I guess having people to rely on doesn't sound so bad...
