Impromptu Oran Sleepover

Who: Oran newbies
What: Having fun with communal dens
When: Sometime after Mightyena gathered them up
Where: The Spire, low tier dens
Warnings: Will add if anything comes up, but not anticipating anything

[As everyone knows by now, the Oran Berries depend heavily on communal living, sharing a bed is simply to be expected. For some, this experience was temporary. Mightyena was kind enough to lend the mysterious misplaced Pokémon a place to rest, but now some of them have moved on.

For others, this is now a part of life, and it's time to get used to it. The Oran Berries value treating everyone like friends and family, after all, so you're expected to do the same! Why not have some fun with it?

Whether you've noticed your fellow newcomers are all gathering in one den, or you suddenly find yourself dragged into the the party against your will, everyone is invited! Everyone's going through the same thing, belong to the same guild, you gotta stick together.....right?]

[[ooc: Feel free to use this as a mingle log! We have nine Oran Berries (I think???) and although the dens are said to hold up to eight, I think some members are small enough that we should be able to include everyone!]]

A. An Angry Prisoner

[Akechi is very disgruntled by this situation. He's been grabbed by a beast significantly larger than himself, placed into a pile, and it reminds him far too much of some of the overpopulated quarters at the children's homes he passed in and out of.

His eyes dart around. Several times, he considers fluttering away, but would he even make it far before his captor grabbed him with her mouth and placed him back?]

This is utterly ridiculous.

[He scoffs, feathers more than a little ruffled.]

It's not like we're children.

B. Jailbreak

[He waits until he's certain A.B.A. is asleep. Then, with a quiet voice, he whispers to anyone nearby.]

Now seems like an opportune moment to escape. Shall we?

Emmet

[personal profile] outbounds 2025-02-13 12:58 am (UTC)(link)
[ For the record, Emmet ... looks like shit, bluntly put. Well. To a certain degree that's kind of how Hisuian Zoroark looks all the time anyway, pale and phantasmal and haggard, with disheveled, messy fur, always pluming away in a non-existent wind. Pinprick, wild eyes and a haunting golden gaze that can stare right through someone. A little blurry around the edges and assorted limbs at times, like your eyes just won't focus right, a wisping sense of motion present even while at rest. #JustGhostThings, you know. Spooky.

Point is, even beyond the normal spooky ghost things, he looks like a man (mon?) who has not really been getting any decent sleep for the past while. But he's fine! It's been fine. He's been powering through it during the day, and it really isn't that noticeable with his normal carriage. Still, if you ran into or met him in their first few days here he definitely looked more put together back then than he does now, a few weeks in. ]

a. sneepy
[ In any case, he can be found, a dozing messy pile of fluffy white and red fur and folded limbs carefully tucked away at the edges of whatever room he's sharing with Ingo (and others), like he's trying to give others as much space as he can. Why might become apparent in a bit, as whatever sleep he's getting certainly doesn't seem restful.

If all the excess fur is getting into your space... oops. Sorry. Listen, he thinks it's a little bit much too. Have you tried keeping this much fluff under control? It's not like he has a brush!

If he is disturbing you from your own (attempted) sleep by idk, accidentally kicking you in your sleep or something, then double oops and double sorry. Being one of the larger Pokemon currently occupying these rooms has some drawbacks, it seems... ]

b. already awake
i.
[ Sleep is not happening, apparently! So maybe you might come across him wandering through the tunnels of the guild housing late at night, seemingly without any particular destination in mind. (It's mostly to familiarize himself with the layout, so he can commit it to memory. A series of tunnels under the ground... it's not so different, really, from what he's used to.) He'll greet you as cheerfully as normal, anyway, but the edges of his smile might be a touch strained.

(But like. Would anyone even recognize that, though, when the expression on his current shape can read as distinctly more unsettling than on a human one. After all, for many creatures, baring their teeth is a threat display, not a greeting.) ]

ii.
[ Presumably he has been dragged to the Great Oran Berry Sleepoverening. Where sleeping apparently is still not happening. He is trying to keep all assorted limbs and fur to himself but his success with that, with so many of them crammed into one place, is definitely a little variable at this point. Sorry about the mane in your face.

Make eye contact? He'll just tilt his head, smile (just a touch wryly), and offer: ]

Having trouble too? This is very strange. Wonder why it's so many of us ...

c. ????
[ idk hit me with something of your own, or remix any of the above as appropriate! ]

i. mingle

[This Pokemon is one of the larger ones around, and he might look mildly terrifying? The expression on his long face is always rather forbidding, and his voice bounces off the stone tunnel walls when he speaks. Still, he seems perfectly at ease otherwise!]

Hello! You are one of the other new arrivals, yes? Have you made yourself comfortable?

[Ingo likes this base, just as he always enjoyed the labyrinth of Wayward Cave. He finds himself oddly at ease underground, a tendency that only seems to have gotten stronger after becoming a den-dwelling Pokemon species!]

ii. night watch

[When the time comes to bed down, Ingo looks around a little before settling himself down nearer to the exit. There's a little bit of a draft, but he'll handle it better than any of the smaller Pokemon. He's a fire-type, isn't he?

He curls into a compact ball, but doesn't go to sleep right away. His eyes almost seem to be glowing silver in the dark as he keeps an eye on the room. If he sees someone else awake, he'll do his best to murmur:]

Ah, are you having trouble sleeping?

iii. sleep

[Eventually, of course, he does sleep. Ingo tends to be a fairly heavy sleeper, once he gets there. Unfortunately, this means he is not waking himself up with his sleep talking! Tonight, there's nothing terribly coherent, just the occasional muffled mumble from the Ingo-Ball. It isn't as loud as his regular speaking voice...but it's still a little loud, sorry.]
telewarped: (Or have you had a change of mind?)

Shoka

[personal profile] telewarped 2025-02-13 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
[By this point, Shoka should probably be used to the communal dens, but it isn't just being packed together with too many strangers into small, drafty rooms that's been difficult for her. Truthfully, she's still not entirely used to sleeping regularly at all and has been—for most of the past couple weeks—only sleeping when her body demands it by completely shutting down on her. Generally, she's slept wherever she's happened to drop, with no specific bed or den in mind.

At the start of the night, she's still restless, pressed uncomfortably into one corner of the den. At the very least, no one else seems to be asleep yet either, so she sees no reason not to complain aloud:]

Sleeping is dumb as hell, to be honest. You pretend to be dead for a few hours, hallucinate half the time, and then you wake up not even feeling well-rested? Seems like a design flaw to me.

[Eventually, however, she does managed to get settled in. It's a cold night, but the company is warm. Maybe she's just delirious from foregoing sleep for as long as she has, but in time she starts to think that she might not completely hate it. It might even be cozy, just a little.

(Yeah, right. She's definitely delirious.)]

Hmph. Y'know, if this were a halfway decent sleepover, we'd at least have some movies and popcorn.

[Leaned casually against the feather bed that is A.B.A, she muses aloud to anyone and everyone within earshot.]

... Well, somebody's gotta keep things interesting around here. Who's up for Truth or Dare? Or just spilling some tea on the rest of the guilds or whatever? At least one of you losers has gotta know something juicy.
