MAY QUEST CATCH-ALL
Who: Emporio and others fighting Gumsoos and Zangoose! ...And others he's questing with.
What: Emporio's Quest Catch-All!
When: Throughout May
Where: The Spire, the Forest, Etc...
Warnings: Pokemon Violence
[POP GOOS THE WEASEL]
The last time there was any trouble with swarming Pokemon, they came in from the sky. It was a situation that carried two problems- the first being that, back in March, Emporio wasn't nearly confident enough to think about holding his own in a battle, and the second being that with all of the pokemon being airborne, he didn't really have a good advantage to work with.
This time however, things are different. His confidence still isn't fantastic mind you, but a pile of weasel and mongoose pokemon swarming through the streets to cause havoc is a particularly good reason to step up to the plate, so with fists clenched and shaking Emporio pulls on his helmet and lines up with everyone else to plan for attack.
...It occurs to him then, of course, that. Well.
"...I think I still only have normal moves...is that going to be a problem against these guys..?" He feels like the mission request specified 'Normal' type...
[[OOC - To keep things simple, and because of how many are fighting off pokemon in their own teams, this will be a thread-jack friendly prompt! While initially Emporio's team might hold some kind of order, everyone is encouraged to break off into individual threads...Even if it means multiple with the same person, or something. The hope is that this prevents things from stalling on tag-order!]]
[SCATTERED BUG - CLOSED]
It's fairly strange, Emporio thinks, that this quest has appeared on the board again. The first time, he didn't pay it much mind. The second time was a bit odd, but he opted to let someone else handle it. The...third time, well.
"Well, if we're lucky, it won't take us too long to find this," Emporio is explaining to his team mates, a few of whom were with him when he spotted the form at the board. "...But it's kind of worrying that they've lost this pouch so many times..." Ah, well.
Helmet in place, he looks at the others. "I got a lot of information from Anasui about where we can go to get through this part of the forest. It'll cut down our time a lot, and it should make it easier to find what we're looking for! Is everyone else ready?"
[SOCIAL GATHERING - CLOSED (Wooden it be Nice + Clay Clamber) ]
For the rest of the month, there are smaller tasks to busy oneself with. Simple things, little matters that help to contribute to the general upkeep of the city over all. Wood, for those bridges that Emporio's pretty sure came a part because of Anasui's work- Emporio shows up at that one with familiar fellows indeed, ready to make good use of what he's learned as a Pokemon.
Clay on the other hand is a bit more interesting. When it comes to gathering clay, Emporio shows up to the task and finds himself staring at the underwater deposit they're meant to be gathering from. He slowly turns his head to look at the three with him. "...Will this really be okay..? It's salt water, right?"
He might not have thought this entirely through...

The next pass of Shadow Claw has him pulling a little more of the nearby shadows to him, his form blurring as he sweeps down to start trimming the new log. He vanishes for a moment at the end, the Zoroark disappearing into his own shadow to return to his starting point faster...
But anyway, what emerges from the shadow is distinctly not a Zoroark, but ... something with a lot less hair! Or a Hisuian Typhlosion, if you have to be boring about it. Despite looking like a near-identical copy, he's probably hard to mistake for Ingo anyway, considering the way he carries himself and the brighter set of his features. Relaxed yet straight-backed, ears perked high (almost more like Typhlosion's Johtonian cousins than the tendencies of the Hisuian variant to lay flat), and corners of his muzzle curling up... yeah, there sure are differences in how identical twins behave and act, huh?
They can all see how Hisuian Typhlosion probably would do Shadow Claw now though, considering they're all still at work.

"Hmn?" They swirl, and Emmet disappears as Emporio watches. And then-
WOAH. "WOAH-" That's.
He didn't expect that! "Y-You turned into..!?"
no subject
[That was cool, ok? Ok. Emmet has now probably been around Akari enough by now to know when she is trying to hide what she actually thinks.]
Can you do people shape?

If there were other shapeshifters or illusionists here— Ditto, other Zoroark, ghosts and psychics who might make the attempt— I would also warn them not to try.
[ Want to try to look like yourself? Don't. ]

From what I've understood, Pokemon are over all way more malleable in their biology than human beings. It's just a theory, but it's probably a lot easier to mimick the forms of other Pokemon because, even at their most varied, their biology still has a lot more in common than with a human being.
[Though, Emmet's warning sounds kinda...Ominous?]
Uh. You didn't...get hurt in the attempt though, did you?

[She says as she knocks down some more wood, planning on trying to heat treat some sooner than later, but might as well get this step done first.]
[Also, she SO is not caring about if Emmet got hurt because of Emmet (this is a lie), it was because she was sure Ingo would be upset if it did (this is not a lie)]

As for Zoroark. Zorua and Zoroark can and will disguise themselves in human shape. Zoroark can even manage human speech. This is known. Experienced ones can alter entire landscapes and make it convincing.
[ We are sidestepping the hurting himself thing. It's fine though, don't worry Akari. He only hurt himself while they were basically still strangers to each other so there is no problem, definitely. And then he's gone out of his way to avoid practicing around Ingo mostly. ]

To be fair, I didn't think it was impossible so much as more difficult...
...you might be a Zoroark now, but it's not like you grew up one, right?
[Also he can't help but notice that sidestep. If Akari doesn't catch it though, he'll let it slide.]
....I wonder how long it'd take for you to be able to easily do that kind of thing though, then...

[Ingo is a bit of a freak of nature, she assumes Emmet is one too. Emmet, did you know your brother just brought three wild Alphas into town one time? Then, once he was done with them, they just left like they were done playing board games at his house?]
no subject
Haha! Well. If you have that much faith in me, how can I let you down?
But hmm. To be clear. Failure to look human feels different from just not managing to do it right. Before, when I couldn't make myself look like this. It was like not having the right fuel to burn?
But trying to look like I used to is more danger, high voltage. Do not enter.
no subject
[That's.......]
Weird... ...I wonder why that is...
...Do you think you could do different human shapes? [It's worth testing if at least to determine what, exactly, is happening here.]
