FEBRUARY 2025 QUESTBOARD
QUESTBOARD
( SIGN UPS FOR THIS MONTH ARE HERE )
At 7am sharp every morning, the city comes fully alive with the posting and highlighting of new quests! Of course, the questboard is something that should always be checked, with rescue missions always a possibility outside of normal update times, but there's something special and heartwarming about the way the entire city comes together this same time each day, just to see what they can do to help one another.
Upon joining their guilds, newcomers have been invited to take a look at the quests themselves. There are rankings they'll have to concern themselves with, after all. Today is a special day, because the newcomers have now officially all been added to the member ranking roster! They are all listed under their respective guilds at the very bottom, sporting a nice 0 points so far. Don't worry, no one's judging them yet. Currently, the guild leaders are at the top rank of their respective guilds. As far as guild ranking, Lum Berries are the top guild, followed by Oran, and lastly by Cheri.
The quests themselves are pinned to the wooden board securely, hanging in clear view with the following information listed for each: quest giver, difficulty level (1-3 stars), rewards (points and/or items, plot mentions obviously are not there), and a message from the quest giver. As for the currently available quests...

GUILDS
( YOU CAN OPTIONALLY THREAD WITH GUILD LEADERS HERE )
Many newcomers already seem to be settling into their respective guilds, and it's left the city with an optimistic energy buzzing around! Each guild has their own unique way of handling things, but all three come together in a way that benefits Bottlecap Bay as a whole, and the newcomers seem to be blending in quite well, despite those worrying nightmares from before.
Acceptance comes with new responsibilities, though, and there are a number of things that each guild expects or requests of their new members.
Lum Berries are straight to work recording information about the latest storm, as well as the newcomers and their nightmares. Polteageist requests that the newcomers in this guild pull their weight by gathering as much information as they can about each newcomer in the other guilds and help record this. Physical descriptors are important, but so are their dreams, their personalities, their beliefs, and so on. It can be hard to dump this sort of information on just anyone, so do try and make some friends if that's what it takes. Beyond that, the results of the exploration quest recently posted will become important, as Lum Berry members will be consulted on the next steps.
Cheri Berries first hold a group celebration of their new members in the Canopy where they'll be spending so much of their time. After a lot of great food and silly icebreaking games, Ribombee will personally thank everyone and mention his quest posting, implying that guild members should try to help not just with their own guild quest, but others. In addition to that, duties will be split across the new recruits, and everyone will find themselves with a schedule of berry gathering, scouting, and monitoring the forest growth and ecosystem health. Busy busy!
Oran Berries are having a month long celebration for its new members. Meals are already held together, but they're made extra special and fancy this month, straight out of Mightyena's metaphorical pocket! She's working overtime to provide for her little Oran Berries. Members are encouraged to help out in the mines, but more than that, are told to enroll in fighting classes, as well as potentially host some of their own to fellow newcomers. No one understands the struggles of adapting to a new body quite like someone already going through it, right? The city is relying on you!
NIGHTMARE RESOLUTIONS
( PLEASE SEE THIS THREAD )
As mentioned on the TDM, characters who have not shared their doubts or feelings with another still have had their nightmares vanish by February 10th. Since then, not a single report of nightmares has been sent in to the Pokeclinic or the Archives. Isn't that great?
More perceptive characters may notice a sense of foreboding despite this calm, however. The more the month goes on, the more a nagging feeling surfaces at the back of every mind. Aren't you forgetting something? The feeling gets more intense, overwhelmingly so, and nothing seems to help with it.
Please respond to this thread below indicating whether your character shared their emotions to relieve the nightmares, or whether they timed out. There's a helpful little form, so go ahead and fill it out as soon as you can! Once we have everyone's info, we'll get back to you all with an update.
NOTES.
⟡ Guild and member rankings will be more properly displayed hopefully next month! Since no player character has any points yet, we did not make that a priority. As of right now, we will be tracking your points, but we recommend keeping your own tracking somewhere as well in case we mess up.
⟡ Please keep your eyes open for a temperature check sometime before the end of the month! This will discuss potential changes, player wishes, and other plans for the game as a whole. Because of this, March's schedule is likely going to change as we iron out the details with you all.
⟡ Please review the quest page for more information on each type of quest and how to sign-up.
⟡ Guild leader threads will be limited to five (5) comments from us. Meaning a thread can get up to 10 comments maximum before we stop replying! This is to prevent overloading ourselves on threads, so thank you for understanding!
⟡ Quest replies will be sent as soon as we can, but may not necessarily be same day (at least this time). Apologies for that, and thanks for understanding!
⟡ As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to ask them here!

I hear it too, [he says, ears swiveling towards the source, his head following soon after.] I think there's someone... that way?
[He turns to Firepaw.]
I can smell something too, I think, but... I can't tell what it means.
no subject
Smells like... cats, one of them smells sort of like a RiverClan cat, and one of them smells like... Liepard. That must be Purrloin.
[Before he takes the berry in his mouth again, he glances up at Akechi.]
Do you think you could fly ahead and see exactly where they are, without them seeing you?
no subject
[Stealth is hardly new to Akechi, though stealthy flying is certainly new. Nonetheless, he tries his best to remain in shadow, perching in the cover of leaves to better camouflage himself.
What he sees is troubling, to say the least.
A larger cat circling around the Purrloin. The fluffed up fur on Purrloin signals clear distress, but the Persian seems entirely unaware, even smiling at the distressed, injured kitten.
Troublesome...
Once he's seen enough, he returns to his teammates, scowling.]
The Persian seems disoriented, to say the least. We'll want to tread carefully in our approach.
no subject
Disoriented... I wonder if they're aware that they're hurting Purrloin.
[Hmm... from just that description, he can't easily come up with anything. He needs to see for himself.]
We'll need to get closer, regardless. Let's take stock of the situation, and come up with a plan.
no subject
[Talking around the berry is hard, but he doesn't want to drop it again in case it gets dirty. He creeps forward, until he can hear the Persian speaking as she prowls around "It's okay, my baby, I'll keep you safe, just stay with me..."
Firepaw's ears go back, and he tries his best to whisper.]
I can try and distract her, if you think you can bring Purrloin the berry.
no subject
I may be the best option. Or, if all else fails, I can try and grab Purrloin and carry them to safety.
[It doesn't look much heavier than Ren and Firepaw, at least, and he did lift Ren out of the ocean...]
no subject
That doesn't make Purrloin's situation any less precarious. Body low to the ground, he crawls forward just enough until he can see the small, purple cat that looks a lot like Liepard. It has to be Purrloin, and she looks hurt and scared. He turns back to Firepaw and Akechi, looking far more serious than Firepaw has probably ever seen him.]
I agree, but... let's not attack Persian unless we absolutely have to. I don't think they're trying to hurt Purrloin, but they've clearly got a... distorted view of the situation.
[Isn't that familiar.]
Firepaw, you and I approach Persian on the count of three. We'll see if we can talk sense into them. Akechi, bring the berry to Purrloin when you see an opening, or if Persian backs down. If not- do what you can to get Purrloin out of here. Even if it comes to a fight, that's your first priority. If we can't defeat Persian, we'll escape once we're sure you and Purrloin have made it to safety.
Everyone ready?
no subject
Ready.
[He waits for the signal, and follows closely behind Ren. For now he stays quiet, just trying to look like he could win a fight if things go that way. Even though Persian is easily twice their size.
"Get away from us!" the Persian hisses as they approach, "My Meowth is already very hurt, I won't let you hurt her again!" The Purrloin glances between her and the boys, with confusion flickering through the fear on her face.]
no subject
For now, Akechi tries remaining out of sight, waiting and watching as his teammates take the lead. He sticks to the shadows, letting his environment conceal him, as if this were a Palace infiltration.
With luck, this will be a swift operation, but he knows better than to get his hopes up.]
no subject
Persian-san, we don't mean any harm, I promise. We're here to help, [he says, gentle but firm.] However... that pokemon over there, is it really your Meowth?
[He glances at Purrloin, who is trembling behind Persian, trying to give her a reassuring look.]
Listen- back in town Liepard-san has been horribly worried for her hurt Purrloin... and the pokemon behind you looks an awful lot like her. Won't you see reason and let us help? We'll help find your Meowth, too, when Purrloin's been brought to safety.
[There's gotta be a reason Persian's so adamant that Purrloin is her Meowth, after all.]
no subject
She isn't moving forward, at least. Firepaw hesitates, and steps forward to speak.]
He's not lying - we're a rescue team, we can help you find Meowth. But we need to bring Purrloin to the PokeClinic first. Please let us help you.
[The Persian lashes her tail, and shakes her head again, as if trying to clear it. Purrloin creeps a little bit further away from her while she's distracted. One of her back paws stays in the air, and she's forced to stay quadripedal because of it. Neither of them seem to have spotted Akechi, since they're focused in on Ren and Firepaw.]
no subject
He lands on a branch just above Purrloin, hopefully cloaked by the foliage. With luck, Persian won't see him just yet, but if the slight rustle draws Purrloin's attention, he'll poke the berry out of the bushes just long enough to send a message.]
no subject
He very carefully does not look at Akechi as he carries the berry to Purrloin, keeping his focus on Persian.]
We're not lying, really, [he says, still firm but gentle. With authority.] We just want to help. Look-
[He sits down, hoping to making himself look nonthreatening. Doesn't mean he is but it's all about perception. He glances at Firepaw, quietly requesting he do the same- if he's comfortable, at least.]
Why don't you tell us what happened? Who or what did this, then?
[If only to keep her talking while Akechi gets Purrloin her berry. Though, it really does sound like Persian may be in something of a pickle herself. If they can just make it see some reason-!]
no subject
"I... I don't know exactly." It seems difficult for her to admit, but she also speaks as though struggling to string words together. "Meowth and I were hunting, we got separated... deeper in the forest, but I scared off the Pokemon that were bothering her, and I... we were moving back toward our den. But she's hurt, she isn't walking right, and the Pokemon here- we aren't safe, we need to get home so she can rest..."]
We can um... bring you to the PokeClinic, if-
[Behind the Persian, Purrloin spots the berry, and starts creeping toward Akechi. But she stumbles over a stick, and Persian reacts to the sound by smacking her to the ground with a paw. "Stop moving away from me! You're making everything so difficult!"]
no subject
Very briefly, Akechi considers diving down, but... No.
He needs to give Ren and Firepaw more time to deescalate. As long as they can take Persian's attention off of Purrloin, he still has a chance.]
no subject
[Ren's fur bristles at the show of aggression, nearly springing upright... but after his outburst, forces himself to stay calm. He thinks they might be slowly getting through to Persian, if not that Purrloin isn't her Meowth, that she needs help. He inhales and exhales, looking at Firepaw, and then back at Persian.]
Please... you can see that this isn't working, can you? Would your Meowth be so easily scared by you? Something tells me they wouldn't be- you know this isn't Meowth, it's Purrloin. So... Persian-san, we're asking you- please let us take her back, we know some pokemon who can help her. Once she's safe, we'll help to find your Meowth, too.
Purrloin's mother is hopelessly scared for her, you must be too, for your Meowth, so please listen to us, Persian-san!
[He hopes this won't set Persian off too badly, but they can't leave Purrloin to suffer like this much longer. The poor thing's scared out of her mind. If it does...
He'll count on Firepaw to have his back.]
no subject
"I... I can't help her on my own." She answers carefully, still looking dazed. "But she- she must be Meowth, or else..."
Troubled by that thought, she notices again when Purrloin manages to creep over to Akechi and take the berry, but she does nothing to stop her. Firepaw's hackles finally lower, and he steps forward carefully.]
Like Ren said, we promise to help you find Meowth. We just need to bring Purrloin to the PokeClinic first.
[The Persian nods, although she doesn't make eye contact with either of them. "Something is... wrong with me, right now. But please... please come find me after you bring her back."
Purrloin starts hungrily eating the berry, and then will try to curl up against Akechi if he'll let her.]
no subject
Though he's not one for physically comforting others, he very awkwardly lifts a wing, allowing her to move closer.]
If you can remember where you last saw your Meowth, we may be able to do a followup investigation, or at least inform Mightyena-san and Ribbombee-san about the situation. It would cast a wider net and make it much easier to reunite the two of you.
no subject
It's as Akechi and Firepaw say. I promise we won't leave you hanging, but first we'll get Purrloin some help. Thank you for understanding, Persian-san.
[Something inside him says that Persian needs help beyond finding Meowth, but... he doubts she'll follow them to the PokeClinic. She's so wary of strange pokemon...
Maybe he can ask Dr. Denne about her symptoms?]
no subject
Firepaw turns his attention back to Purrloin, and sniffs her back leg. The berry helped, but she's definitely still going to need to visit the PokeClinic before she can walk.]
How are you doing, Purrloin?
["I'm... as okay as I can be." Purrloin chooses her words carefully - she's a little wary, but she knows they're here to help. "I'm still gonna be limping for a while, so... I guess, sorry if I slow you down."]
Don't worry about that... um, Akechi, do you think you can carry her back? That might be better than having her walk on three legs.
1/2
[So, expecting more of the same, Akechi flutters up and tries grabbing Purrloin by the scruff of her neck. Taking a deep breath, he spreads his wings, ready to take flight.]
no subject
I don't understand. This should be simple...
[Unfortunately, for reasons modern scholars still cannot understand, Purrloins weigh twenty-two pounds.]
no subject
Firepaw, come on. Let's help Akechi out.
[Maybe they can shoulder some of Purrloin's weight to spare her leg.]
