[LOG] Early August
Who: Ren Amamiya and YOU!! (and Goro Akechi)
What: General interactions post-coma
Where: The Oran Berries Guild, Grumpearl network video, the Pokeclinic
When: Early August
Warnings: Discussion of illness/injury/disability, medical stuff in general, implied medical trauma. More TBA as needed.
Having been out for all of July thanks to succumbing to the mystery illness that has been plagueing Bottlecap Bay for a while now, Ren's still regaining his bearings. He's a little mad at himself for letting it get this bad- and for making everyone worry. That's the last thing he wanted. Still, he's eager to catch up on what he missed, and to start doing missions again... but he's still under doctor's orders to take it easy.
1: Return to the guild.
Having woken up and finally (finally) been deemed healthy enough to leave the Pokeclinic, the first order of business is to return to the guild. There's an excited march in his step, though it is somewhat undermined by a limp, and the general air of... tiredness hanging around him. A sure sign that he's still recovering. That said, the moment he steps through the entrance of the spire, a grin spreads as he immediately sees a few familiar faces. A few new ones, too, but regardless, he seems happy.
"Hey," he says, voice a little rough still, "sorry to worry you, but I'm back now. What'd I miss?"
2: The Pokeclinic.
A: The waiting room.
Despite being declared healthy enough to leave, that doesn't mean he's completely rid of the clinic. With strict orders from Dr. Denne, he's back the next morning for a checkup already- to make sure he's doing okay. Ren thinks it's a little much; okay, so he's aching all over still, and it's causing him to limp a little, but it'll clear up, won't it? Dr. Denne said it would, so why all this?
Still, he begrudgingly enters the clinic, watching the pokemon bustle around to take care of the patients. His ear twitches, but he goes to announce his presence to a nearby Chansey, who tells him to wait- they'll come get him soon. So he does, settling down.
B: Checkup.
Soon enough, Ren's called in by the same Chansey, who takes him to an examination room. It's not Dr. Denne today doing the checkup, which makes him... a little nervous, honestly. Okay, a lot nervous. The people here are no Takemi, and despite having been treated here, he still doesn't like it. There's needles around, and all sorts of things he doesn't recognize, and he knows, he knows they don't mean him harm... but the mind doesn't easily forget, despite what he tells himself.
If you're volunteering at the clinic, perhaps you might notice him as you bring around equipment and medicine...
3: [Locked to Akechi] before all this...
For the first time in a long time, the green body in the hospital bed makes a noise. Not just a pained moan or anxious shift at whatever nightmares keep him trapped in his sleep, but an honest to god, confused wake-up noise.
Ren's in pain. His eyes blearily blink away sleep, but it's... hard. He's so tired, and nothing properly registers. He doesn't recognize the shapes in front of him. He's confused, and a little scared.
He does, however, recognize a familiar smell. Consciously or not, the slowly waking Ren seeks it out.

[He pauses, tilting his head. What's his world like, huh...?]
I guess it's pretty normal, for the most part? [... Maybe? It's hard to say what's normal anymore, with so many people from so many worlds around.] We... there weren't pokemon or anything. I guess to most people, it was just a human world.
[Most people being the key words here.]
A select few people got an app on their phone, though. We... could access a different world. A world that reflected humanity's collective unconscious, and people's distorted desires.
[Sigh. He misses his Personas. Having Pokemon powers is nice, but it's not to same.]
no subject
That's, uh... [She shouldn't be surprised. But she is!] Was that app... safe to download???? Was that just on the app store????

[How serious is he? Well, that's for him to know, and for Noelle to guess. Still, his smirk softens a little.]
We no longer had access to that world after that, but... I'm not so sure it's fully gone, after all.
[He looks almost... nostalgic? Hopeful? as he says it.]
no subject
That sounds... really fun, actually. I've had dreams like that, but nothing exciting ever really happened to me. [She dreamed about going to a magical world with Kris and Susie. Berdly was also there.]
I think... so long as people have desires... uh, distorted ones especially... that world must still exist, even a little bit! So who knows? Lots of things can happen!
no subject
It was really fun. I'd give anything to go back, honestly...
[There's a wistful air about him, before he shakes his head, and turns to look at Noelle.]
So, what about you? What's your world like?
no subject
In reality, her world was very small. Mostly limited to her bedroom, school, and the scattering of places in between. She never even left Hometown.]
Oh, you know, nothing special. Just... I came from a small town. I was in school, and my mom was always telling me I'd need to think about college soon. I, um, ran cross-country and was in the church choir.
[She feels embarrassed just saying it. She doesn't have any cool stories like he does.]
no subject
My parents were also always hounding me about getting good grades and getting into a good college. [Y'know. Before... everything.] Typical, huh?
[Still, he senses her embarrassment, and immediately pivots.]
Still, you were in a choir? That's super cool! I like to think I'm pretty decent at singing, but I definitely never was in a club or a group or anything. I also had a friend who used to do track- which isn't the same as cross-country, but we did go running together. I haven't really been keeping up since I got here, though...
[Making a snap decision, Ren speaks up like he did back in Tokyo.]
Maybe we could go on a run together sometime? If you want to, of course. [He grins.] I know the feeling of having lived in a small town all your life, before suddenly being thrust into a place that's way bigger and where you don't know anyone. Might be relaxing to do something you're familiar with.
i couldnt resist LOL
Thou hast acquired a new vow.
It shall become the wings of rebellion that breaketh the chains of thy captivity.
With the birth of a new Lovers Persona, I have obtained the winds of blessing that shall lead to freedom and new power...]
Getting to sing again sometime would be fun, but I don't know if there's really a choir here... maybe some Christmas carols when winter comes? I also always wanted to do karaoke! Fahahaha.
... Oh! But first, we ought to finish your checkup. Sorry, sorry! [She finishes the last of her notes so she can send in Dr. Denne.]
CACKLES too bad there's no personas in bottlebay rip
Hey, should be fun. I don't know if the locals celebrates, but nothing stopping us from enjoying it on our own.
[Ah- right. Checkup. Ren shuts up, and leaves Noelle to finish her notes before he speaks up again.]
You'll have to teach me some- I'll admit I haven't really ever sung any.
ready to wrap? LOL
Yea this seems like a good place to end it o7
Well, I know that one! Or the refrain, at least, heh.
[He gets up, stretches, trying to work out the aches as much as he can, and shakes himself out. Honestly, for how nervous he was when coming in... he's remarkably relaxed now.]
Thanks for the checkup, Noelle. I'll see you around.
