[OPEN MINGLE] if everybody had an ocean
Who: Eleanor and YOU!
What: Elly's beach party!
Where:: The beach!
When: Within the first week of June
Warnings: Hopefully none, just beach shennanigans

Eleanor's hosting a beach party! Although it's primarily meant for her and her friends, everyone is welcome. So come and partake in some swimming, some games, and even the food! Feel free to respond to the prompts here or to create your own below :)can you tell i like the beach boys
1] Then Everybody'd Be Surfin'
The party is in full swing, with games on the go and a few Pokemon splashing about in the shallows. Eleanor's taken it upon herself to double up as a lifeguard, keeping an eye on those less adept at swimming should they enter the water. She knows it'll probably be fine, since it is just shallow waves. But perhaps someone who is too small is trying to recklessly catch them with no clue as to how surfing works. Regardless, she stands relatively close to the water, before finally splashing in herself to try and catch up with one of her friends.
2] Like Californ-I-A
When she's not by the water, Eleanor can be found participating in a rather janky game of volleyball. Originally she'd tried to see if the game would work with one of her bubbles, but they've acquiesced and borrowed a ball from the sports club. It's not like she can't go grab it should it get knocked into the ocean. But still, the game is tough and more than a little confusing for her, so she's quick to dip out to go and peruse the snack options instead. There's a lot of cut up fresh fruit, some grilled veggie skewers, and even a couple of meat options for the more carnivorously inclined. All of it freshly cooked on a small firepit. She's mostly helping herself to the fruit - it's an assortment of berries and what... could probably be melons? She's not actually sure, since a lot of the snacks and food has been provided by other Pokemon. The melon pieces appear to have been smashed, though. In fact, there's someone blindfolded and trying to smash another one not too far away.
It's not a beach activity she's personally familiar with, but she's glad whoever that is is having fun?
3] Everybody's Gone Surfin'
One activity previously not on the itinerary is sandcastle building - which Eleanor has been roped into by her Popplio friends. While certainly not something suited for a party, perhaps, it is suited for the beach! The younger Pokemon eagerly gather around her, packing in the sand and reinforcing it with some weak water attacks to make the sand more secure.
Eleanor's sandcastle seems... different, though. Far different to her companions at least.
4] Surfin' USA
[ standard wildcard option! eleanor will also hit up any tls posted below because it's her party after all! ]

Agnes Montague | The Magnus Archives | Ninetales | OTA
The morning of the day that the party was set to take place, the clouds thickened with the risk of rain. Which might have been fine; there were few calendar reasons not to postpone the party, but Agnes decided to take matters into her own hands, moving down to the beach early and glowering at the sky with all the indignation an Avatar can muster.
And the sunlight turned harsh!
For the rest of the afternoon, any cloud that tries to form over this stretch of beach gets glared into submission. Hopefully, there's no one here who's at particular risk of sunburn, as there's a Drought ability in effect.
2. Et elevamini, portae aeternales
And if there's a beach party, there must be a bonfire, especially once night settles in. Blankets have been arranged around the fire to make a good spot to dry out and warm up for those coming in from the surf, and someone (yes, Agnes) has even managed to procure marshmallows to roast.
Find her settled down on one of those blankets comfortably, watching other 'mons but hesitating to spook unless spooken to.
3. Et introibit rex gloriae
Wildcard again--come bother the fox.

"Thank you, for this. I can't believe I didn't think of it."
no subject
"Did you get a marshmallow, too, or just help all of them with theirs?"
no subject
"I did. I just wanted to make sure they all had theirs first," she smiles softly. "They're the younger ones, you see."
no subject
"Still, take your indulgence, or they'll get the lesson that growing up is about letting everyone else go first."
no subject
She can distantly recall a memory of such, from someone she could never hope to name.
"I suppose you're right."
no subject
There's this way one of her ears flickers when she's teasing or being sarcastic, and that's on clear display right now. She's smug, but it's not serious in the least.
"Did you get what you wanted, out of this party?"
no subject
The lack of seriousness is what's getting Eleanor to giggle in spite of the fact that she should be focused on finishing her marshmallow.
"I... I think so," she nods, tearing at the last of the gooey treat with her teeth. She still hasn't quite worked out how to eat in any way other than like a starving animal. "I got to have all of my friends gathered at a place I love. And I got to get out all of my energy."
Those were the two main goals, after all. To finally catch up on all of the fun she'd missed while she'd been in the clinic. So the party has more than smashed it.
no subject
What effort, on Agnes's part? What fuss? Shh, don't worry about it. She busies herself with getting a marshmallow on a stick with nothing but her muzzle to help, spearing the treat neatly.
no subject
"Are you going to cook that here?" She tilts her head to the side.

1. Staring at the sky is a popular pastime for cult expies
While he has a couple of good, reasonable.... uh, reasons... to be here, he is distractable, and recognising (or thinking he recognises? Pokemon of the same 'species' are often so similar) Agnes catches him inexplicably off guard.
He's not sure why her presence is so surprising. Maybe it's because he's only ever seen her at night while he was having kind of a mental breakdown and... in the woods, while she was leading an organised effort that he still only half-understands and didn't really feel comfortable with. He still helped.
Which is something. He helped, even if he didn't like it. Because it was a good cause. Not burnign down the whole Bay was good. Burning any of the forest was bad, still, in his mind... but like he told Parvati, he didn't want anyone to die. So, he did it.
And maybe the fact that he did do that makes it easier for him to approach Agnes now, the galaxy-like pools of light that somehow function as eyes flattening in uncertainty as he follows her gaze up.
Up, into the sky, and into the... clouds? The sun? Something else?
There's a dangerous intensity to her eyes and hard set of her mouth (he's getting better at reading some of these animal faces) that speaks to something dire. Something he can't see.
"What are we looking at?" he asks, after a second.
Instead of confused, he sounds grim. This is a serious matter to her, apparently, and so it is to Simon.
no subject
She takes her eyes off the sky long enough to give him a sidelong glance, deigning to acknowledge him with a slight nod. She still doesn't know what to make of him, either, except that he's new to being free.
"Eleanor is throwing a party down at the beach today." It's a half-answer, if even that much, but is delivered as seriously as anything she's ever said to him.
no subject
Which isn't really relevant to anything, but it's there in the background as Simon plumbs the limits of his willingness to try puzzling out what her actions have to do with her words on his own.
"...."
And comes up with... nothing.
"Okay?"
no subject
By staring at the sky. Pokemon shit is weeeeird sometimes. Though this is less actively malicious than some of her attacks. Bitter Malice? Burning Jealousy? Pain Split? She's still kind of awful in her way.
no subject
"You can do that?"
no subject
Her tails ripple in a wave as she turns her head to look at him.
no subject
He turns back to her, and despite the lack of obvious pupils in his face, he does meet her eyes. The centres of those spiral galaxies are just as easily followed, if one cares to try.
"Then why--" he starts without thinking about it.
"The fuck didn't you use it to--"
He stops, frowning. "Wait."
Realisation hits, and to his credit--he does stop to let his brain and mouth catch up to each other.
"Fire. It's because you're Fire.... Type," he fumbles over the terminology but keeps going, suddenly understanding several different things in rapid succession.
"You can stop the rain, but you can't stop a fire..."
no subject
There's amusement woven through the patronizing tone in her voice.
"I am of fire. I have always been of fire. I have never wanted to quell or stop a fire before. This is new territory for me, trying to stop a blaze from devouring a town."
