Impromptu Oran Sleepover

What: Having fun with communal dens
When: Sometime after Mightyena gathered them up

[As everyone knows by now, the Oran Berries depend heavily on communal living, sharing a bed is simply to be expected. For some, this experience was temporary. Mightyena was kind enough to lend the mysterious misplaced Pokémon a place to rest, but now some of them have moved on.

For others, this is now a part of life, and it's time to get used to it. The Oran Berries value treating everyone like friends and family, after all, so you're expected to do the same! Why not have some fun with it?

Whether you've noticed your fellow newcomers are all gathering in one den, or you suddenly find yourself dragged into the the party against your will, everyone is invited! Everyone's going through the same thing, belong to the same guild, you gotta stick together.....right?]

Oh. Is that ... That is a story about Sinistea? Is that right?

[ off to try to see if there's tea, and not the kind Shoka's interested in. ]

Wouldn't have gone far, anyway. [ Unless he got lost, but he's used to navigating through mazelike, underground tunnels. Worst case scenario, just find the tunnels that slope upwards, go back to the top, then work one's way back down. Simple. ] I am Emmet. You are here. No reason to be anywhere else.

[He's not sure what else to say. "Good"? That's how he feels, but he doesn't want Emmet to feel like he can't take any time and space to himself.]

And yes! Sinistea do not live in Hisui, but we still do enjoy tea.

Hmm. Sinistea is Galarian, mostly. Don't really find them in Unova, so...

[ Why tea, anyway? Are there going to eventually be entire sets of ecologically similar drink ghosts differentiated only by what kind of beverage they decided to take up residence in?

Ah, wait, wait, focus. ]

You will have to tell me what's ... Well. I will trust you to make something good. If there is something for tea available.

Do they...not drink tea in Unova?

[Ingo's experience largely covers people from Hisui, Johto, and the one Galarian. All of which are pretty into tea!]

Oh, no, we have it. I am just not much of a connoisseur. To me tea is tea.

Which to some people seems to be something terrible, but.

[Ingo shrugs.]

I just buy whatever the merchants have when they pass through. I know green and black.

[Not exactly a tea conoisseur himself!]

Oh. When you said calming, I thought you meant one of those fancy herbal blends. [ spoken like a man who knows that green, black, and herbal all exist, aaaand that's about it. ] I think I might have also gotten the idea that you might forage for or grow them or something. But that is a very silly image. You would be waiting for them to grow for a while. Also, I do not think a few tea plants would make that much tea.

You said you live halfway up Mount Coronet ... they come all the way up there?

Not all the way up to my camp! But I know their timing and routes, generally, and they know that I will see them safely through the area. No matter how familiar they are with the trails, there are always changes...and there have been bandits on the road, lately. So we both make efforts to meet up with one another!

[It's easy enough to walk and talk about this. It's nothing important, after all, just idle chatter.]

[ something they can both do: hold a perfectly normal, idle conversation about absolutely nothing in particular while somewhat sleep deprived. easy enough. ]

They come from Jubilife, right? That is all the way on the western coast of the region, isn't it? ... How often do they pass by?

[offtracks]

Oh, they come through Jubilife, but most of them travel from farther still! Johto, or maybe over the water from Kanto. It is their entire living - traveling with the guild caravan, selling their wares. The northern leg is a minor one, really, and only a few do it regularly.

[The Pearl Clan are reliable customers, though, and there's goods to be traded for there that you cannot find elsewhere.]

We do not see them at all after harvest-time, but they come by a few times a season before that.

The more southern regions... that makes sense. If Jubilife is relatively new then they probably do not have much to offer yet.

[ his head tilts a little as they walk, a thought occurring to him. ]

How much time does it take to cross the region?

[ is it the same sets of traders making multiple trips, or different ones? only a few, but... ]

You could probably do it in a week if you were very determined and unencumbered!

[so says? google maps?]

But it is more common for it to take several, especially with wagons involved.

A very unencumbered merchant does not seem like a very good one.

[ or maybe it is the opposite and they are just so strong that carrying all their wares is nothing to them? ]

Wagons make more sense. What do you trade?

Ah, not much! I am hardly a craftsperson! I give them my services, in terms of navigating, and perhaps anything extra I have, or rare stones or items I've encountered! It's not entirely necessary. Ultimately, the Clan will see to it that I have what I need, since I am a Warden. Most Wardens cannot easily take on other work due to their position; we're often busy with our Nobles, and must live far afield to tend to those duties. But I would rather not rely solely on them like that!

Oh. Right. You are someone important. [ An entire life, built in Hisui. ] And all this is in addition to your work in Jubilife?

[ 'Most Wardens can't easily take on extra work.' Ingo had mentioned doing both, before, but Emmet hadn't gotten the details then. That is... quite a lot? Certainly it seems to be a booked schedule. Keeping very busy...

A slight hesitation, next, his ears flicking as Emmet keeps his gaze steadily forward. ]

You were far from other people. Was it lonely?

Oh, no.

[It's an automatic response, the sort of thing he's probably said a hundred times before. Ingo takes a moment to consider.]

...well, yes. But it's alright. I have my Pokemon, at least.

[But one-sided conversations with them just aren't quite the same. You need Pokemon and people.]

You said you liked the festivals in Jubilife because a lot of people went.

[ It's not accusing, just factual. Remarked, even. ]

That's not new. You liked meeting people before too. It's a little sad that your Pokemon aren't here, though. [ ... ] But there are plenty of people here now, anyway. And you have me.

[ Not that one can really replace the other. But these statements simply are, for better or for worse. ]

That is true!

[That's a little heartening, actually! As they reach the lower dining area, Ingo wanders over to peer into the kitchen area.]

Are we allowed to....oh. [It's open...]

Maaaaaybe. It is for the nocturnal Pokemon?

[ have they met any, actually?

Ingo wanders over, and Emmet trails after to also peer quizzically inside. are they just supposed to ... let themselves in? are they allowed? ]

I suppose...

[Well, no one seems to be stopping them...Ingo walks in, peering carefully around.]

They must have water set by somewhere. [At least he doesn't have to get used to not having plumbing here...?]

[ Emmet is going to be fantastically useless here, you're welcome. Like sure, he's been on the road and camped out in the woods before, Lostlorn Forest is literally right there, but their Pokemon journeys were decades ago by now. Add that in with the fact that he now has somewhat questionable dexterity, and. Hm. ]

Over ... here, I think? Some containers on the shelves.

[ I have no clue if they're in glass or stone or whatever, but here we are. ]

......I'm not entirely sure what I thought I was going to do.

I feel like I am more likely to just scratch something than actually pick it up if I try.

[ he hasn't checked his paws for steadiness yet. but that's also definitely something that tends to go once you're at a certain level of sleepless. ]

[Ingo narrows his eyes. It isn't really about the tea; he only suggested that for Emmet's sake. But they just walked all the way down here! He doesn't want to immediately reverse tracks and go back to their room!]

I will try it!

[He certainly also has claws, but they're shorter and blunter, more for digging than a primary form of attack. Hopefully they're less likely to leave scratches. He rises up onto his hind legs and grabs one of the vessels between both of his forepaws. It's an awkward position, and he's immediately not quite sure what to do with it, because he was acting on impulse!]
