Impromptu Oran Sleepover
Who: Oran newbies
What: Having fun with communal dens
When: Sometime after Mightyena gathered them up
Where: The Spire, low tier dens
Warnings: Will add if anything comes up, but not anticipating anything
[As everyone knows by now, the Oran Berries depend heavily on communal living, sharing a bed is simply to be expected. For some, this experience was temporary. Mightyena was kind enough to lend the mysterious misplaced Pokémon a place to rest, but now some of them have moved on.
For others, this is now a part of life, and it's time to get used to it. The Oran Berries value treating everyone like friends and family, after all, so you're expected to do the same! Why not have some fun with it?
Whether you've noticed your fellow newcomers are all gathering in one den, or you suddenly find yourself dragged into the the party against your will, everyone is invited! Everyone's going through the same thing, belong to the same guild, you gotta stick together.....right?]
[[ooc: Feel free to use this as a mingle log! We have nine Oran Berries (I think???) and although the dens are said to hold up to eight, I think some members are small enough that we should be able to include everyone!]]

[For a second it seems like he's not about to comply, as he looks totally exasperated, but then with a roll of his eyes he gets up and scoots to the edge of the bed. There's a pause as he takes a breath, puffing up a bit, then he lets himself fall to the floor... and instead of crashing to the ground he just bounces back up, unharmed.
He sort of rolls over the mattress a bit, but he quickly rights himself, looking mildly annoyed the entire time. He gives her a look as he dusts himself off, like he's asking if she's satisfied.]
There. Is that a good enough demonstration?
no subject
I guess it'll do, since I didn't even dare you to do it. [Thoroughly amused, she giggles.] Anyway, fair—that rules. I'll have to keep you in mind next time I need a punching bag!
Tell you what... Just for that, I'll spice things up and let you give me a dare for my next turn. But you better not come up with something lame.
[Dare you to shut up and go to sleep, for example.]
no subject
Gee, thanks.
[But, right, he wasn't dared... Well, he can't undo his little performance, so whatever.]
You want a dare, huh? Alright.
[He puts a hand to his non-existent chin as he thinks on it. What's something he could dare her to do that's also not totally boring...?]
Uhm. Sing part of your favorite song? Just, quietly, in case some people are actually asleep.
no subject
[There's no change to her smug, confident facade, even if inwardly she does feel a brief flutter of uncertainty. She's no singer, and she has to take a moment to think of a song she could pick as a favorite. Something by Eve or Def Märch, maybe? No, maybe something a little simpler and upbeat for this audience... Something Final Fantasy? Yes, that'll work.
Eventually, she clears her throat (if she even has one), and begins to sing in an upbeat but hushed voice:]
What can I do for you?
I can hear you
What can I do for you?
Ano hi kokoro no kanata ni
Egaiteta basho ni iru
Tohou ni kuretetari suru
Keredo mou modorenai...
[The false head of her disguise rag sways back and forth to an imaginary rhythm. She's clearly unpracticed at singing—and she isn't trying to be serious about it—but her voice isn't terrible, really.]
no subject
He just sits there, rather captivated. What cane he say? She did a good job.]
That was pretty good. I, uh, didn't expect you to actually sing anything.
[He may be a Pokémon that's supposed to excel at singing, but he'd be far too embarrassed to try and sing in front of someone himself. So he can consider her performance rather brave.]
I guess I'll pick truth again, if you want to keep playing...
[He's not sure when the game is supposed to end. Whenever someone refuses to participate? Or just when they get bored of it, maybe...?]
no subject
[Well, she might have if his dare had been any more embarrassing. Even she has her limits.
As far as she's concerned, the game only ends once she's either bored or asleep. Since she is neither yet, she thinks for a moment before continuing:]
Tell me a secret you've never told anyone else.
no subject
[He definitely notes her self confidence. She certainly has more than him. So he won't add that he wouldn't blame her for skipping out on singing, even if it did break the rules.
Now he has to come up with a secret. He hesitates for a moment, poking his little hands together. He supposes he should just say the first thing that comes to mind, even if he knows it's weird.]
Well... Erm. Shortly before I ended up here, I had been turned into a vampire and as difficult as that transformation was, I think I could have gotten used to it. I don't know for sure, but maybe I could've made it as a vampire.
no subject
She's taken aback—not at the existence of vampires, but just at the thought of him specifically being one. And here she thought he was a complete normie!]
Oho, now we're getting somewhere interesting! So what, pray tell, does it take to make it as a vampire?
no subject
Uh, well... You need to have control over your powers, I suppose. You've got to adapt to a whole new lifestyle, learn the vampire rules. And you have to get comfortable with, ah, your food...
[He makes an odd face, then. He never did get the hang of viewing people as a source of sustenance. As a vampire he'd need to learn to hunt and how to bite. He's not the type to kill for his meals, of course, it's just the whole concept of biting people is a bit of an ordeal for him.]
no subject
Uh-oh! Did somebody have a problem with killing people?
no subject
Of course I did. I could eat without- Erm. I mean, I wouldn't let it come to that...
no subject
Gonna be honest with you... Still doesn't sound like you were really that comfortable with your food.
no subject
No, I know I wasn't. It's something I'd have to get used to. It, yanno, takes time to adjust to essentially preying on people. Until then I was going to rely on, um, collection bags... Like, from a hospital or donation clinic...
[Or, rather, he got his supply from an unscrupulous back alley doctor. But he doesn't want to mention that.]
no subject
[She may not have a true face in this form, but there's still a broad, mocking smile audible in those words.]
What makes you think you could've made it as a vampire, then? I mean, if you could barely even stomach eating...
no subject
I-I don't know, okay? If I had forever, more or less, I figured I'd get it all worked out eventually... Maybe I could find the right kind of person who wouldn't mind being a donor. It could happen.
no subject
[Not her though. She definitely hasn't read plenty of steamy fanfiction on the exact subject.]
Anyways—if you really were a vampire, did you even have to sleep? [Now that he seems to have mostly forgotten the game, she's just going to keep demanding free Truths.]
no subject
[Yeah, he'd like to avoid the types who would be too into being a donor. It wouldn't have to be weird, though, right? Still, he's looking a tad flustered over this whole topic and he is glad to talk about something else.]
Uh. Yeah, I slept. It was sort of different from when I would sleep before I was turned, but... I'd definitely feel tired around dawn and feel the need to rest while the sun's up.

[She sounds disappointed.]
no subject
[She can be as disappointed as she likes, Conrad just crosses his arms in a triumphant gesture.]
Believe me when I say you wouldn't want to run into the other vampires I was unfortunate enough to meet.
no subject
no subject
... The vampires I knew were all cold-blooded murderers. But, fine... You think you would've made a good vampire?
no subject
no subject
You say that, but the diet change is rather a big adjustment.
...
What was your job, anyway?
